Tx. Repukes say: No Flags for Absent Democrats
(Here is a portion of the Quorum Report by Harvey Kronberg sent to me via e-mail)
(Snip) Sen. Barrientos, Sen. Eddie Lucio (D-Brownsville) and Sen. Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa (D-McAllen) said they were shocked and saddened to learn that their Capitol offices could no longer purchase Texas flags on behalf of their constituents. Van de Putte said Texas Department of Corrections’ inmates made the flags."That is below the belt with me," said Lucio, who guessed he spent more on Texas flags than any other senator did for veterans and funerals. snip
"This is a low blow for me and my constituents," Lucio said. "It’s a slap in the face and I think I shall never forget it."
Beckwith confirmed that the Democrats could not purchase flags even though their constituents are the ones writing the checks to the Senate. "The privilege of dealing with the purchasing office has been cut off," Beckwith said.

5. Do you think people will finally see the light? I am going to a breakfast
meeting with the Rep. tomorrow morning. He is one that will be ousted by the redistricting. He has a great deal of Republican support and many of them are also angry about this mess. I really wonder sometimes if my vote will just completely go away.

8. Chet Edwards, District 11. A very nice person whom they tried to get rid
of last election by redrawing the districts and by labeling him a "liberal". He is definitely not a liberal. He is probably closer to th old time real repukes before they were taken over by the john burchers.

9. Mine is Max Sandlin...
Really good guy -- I like him a lot. He's also the chief deputy whip in the House. He really has done a lot of good for East Texas -- it'll be a crime if we lose him...but, he has said he will run no matter what happens! Way to go! He really sticks it to them -- he was excellent at the redistricting hearing -- he said the Republicans had sold their souls! Got the crowd totally riled up! :-)

11. Bravo. We are some of the few who still have representation. The
thing about Chet is that he is open to all of his constituents, not just the big backers and not just the Dems. His area includes Ft.Hood and he is very well liked and respected there. We will be shooting ourselves in the foot if we get rid of him.

14. Isn't it nice to work for decent people that really want to work for the
folks they represent instead of bowing to the ruling party?

7. Yeah, you are a deceased Vet and your family can't purchase a flag for
your funeral because of a bunch of power hungry repukes. That is so WRONG!

16. What a bunch of belligerent, petty bigots
Why is Texas not in full attack mode against their spoiled rotten assembly persons? Is party politics so engrained that one party can publicly murder the other? I guess what is right no longer matters, only who is a republican.

17. People are the whole are apathetic and unless they can see how they
are directly effected (job loss, no money for their kid's football program (now that would get their attention) they label it politics as usual. Unfortunately they and we all suffer because of this.

19. Thanks, I just met with our Congressman, the one they are trying to get
rid of, and he is such a good force for all of our community that it just reinforces the evil that the repules are trying to do.
