in a language they can understand. Here is the letter I wrote to their reservations email address:
The email was entitled "Reservations" ------------------------ That is something that I will never make with your hotel. From the news reports out of Las Vegas over the past few days, it appears that your hotel is incapable of providing a safe and violent free environment for all of your guests--only those who cannot tolerate free speech and the fact that the constitution still guarantees that. That cheap political stunt pulled by Bill Timmins, who coincidentally contributes to the GOP, has cost your hotel my business for the foreseeable future. Did your hotel even *try* to arrest those destroying your establishment? How can I feel safe in your hotel when you condone ignorants destroying your property?
Ms. Ronstadt's treatment by your hotel staff was beyond contemptable and making the limp excuse that you're trying to "defuse the situation" was beyond the pale. In most cities around the country, police are called in to arrest out of control people destroying private property. When will you release the videotapes of the 'melee' so that everyone can see what really happened? According to one of the local Las Vegas television anchors who attended the concert and was an eye witness, no such thing happened. I cannot even trust the Aladdin to be truthful about this story, how can I trust the Aladdin to keep me safe while I'm staying in their establishment?
The Mirage.. Treasure Island... now those sound like a better bet to me and my money.
---------------- I think the overwhelming demand for the release of the security videotapes, and the History Channel is forever airing stories on security at the Vegas hotels and how up to date their surveillance techniques are, is in order.
