To The Media: How Can You Have A Terrorist Attack In A War Zone?
why does the media continue to bullshit us to death? they immediatly tried to tie this to al qaeda and play the association game with zero proof. the bush administration did this too in response.

to me i saw it as a statement from probably a few iraqi factions concerning humanitarian efforts failing, since they struck right under de mello's office.

2. al qaeda insinuations are bullshit
but targeting civilians and noncombatants in this way is terrorism, war zone or no.

4. oh, there are probably "al-Queda" there..
at least as they are defined in the loose guilty by association sort of way the Justice Department has been using it.

They were in Kosovo, Chechnya, etc.. I'm sure if they aren't in Iraq they are headed that way.

11. So how exactly would you characterize dropping 'bunker busters' on a
restaurant full of Iraqi civilians because of a suspicion that a certain Hussein person may have been there?

3. several ancient principles at work here
it's mostly a flag thing, "our side good, them bad"--apply that to everything, and such stupid things make more sense.

5. MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY
It's a fricking guerilla war.

And demeaning their attacks as "terrorism" simply continues the deluded thought patterns that got us into this cluster fuck.

Damn all the idiots that got us into this quagmire....every last one.

12. I can no longer comfort myself with the possiblity that the media is inept
They are completely complicit and part of the government.

That is when this country ended.

7. It's not guerilla attack
when you attack UN diplomats and aid workers.

They are not legitimate targets, by any stretch of the imagination.

It may be a "statement," but it is not a legitimate one. The UN office is working to mediate and end the occupation.

It probably wasn't Al Qaeda, though. That is BS.

13. Clue phone ringing
The U.N (foreigners) are in Iraq to "help re-build" it.

Maybe I'm paranoid, but from all the guerilla warfare going on, I'd have to guess that THEY DON"T WANT foreigners in their land..."rebuilding" (read establishing the infrastructure for the occupation) is probably something they want to control.

I am sorry for the loss of life. I'm am equally sorry and appalled at the loss of life inflicted needlessly on Iraq by American weapons and policy.

14. Who actually did the attack?
I have doubts that it was either al Quaeda or the Iraqis. Neither one of them have issues with the UN, especially when there are many more coalition targets around. This whole thing stinks.

10. This underground war had gone on in Eur after Germany came in.
But I do not recall what they called it. Maybe someone who does history will know.
