For many years I feel that I, along with the people of Tennessee, have received poor representation by you and your policies. Refusing to allow John Kerry to vote on the veterans bill was nothing more than the act of a petulant child more appropriate for the playground than the United States Senate. Your latest exercise in childishness, however, puts your earlier efforts to shame. Putting forth an amendment to the constitution to prohibit gay marriage shows you to be the Senate's figurative equivalent to the Iraqi prisoner being led around by Lynndie England. I urge you, Senator, to grow a spine and do the right thing by withdrawing the amendment from the Senate floor. To offer it is a betrayal to the people of the United States, the people of Tennessee, and your own, stated, conservative values. After years of being a Bush lapdog, finally sir, do the right thing.
