Bush and the Repubs have shown their best hand today on the campaign trail
..in Pennsylvania. He attacked John Kerry as a "waffler" and a flip-flopper by name. Several times he reminded his audience that the president must speak clearly and mean what he says. (Like George W Bush) He will never turn over our national security to leaders of other countries. He talked about the need for tort reform and the damage done by "trial lawyers".

They hit the old tried and true, "it's not the government's money, it's the people money". And talked a lot about taxes and the creation of jobs and how we are on the right track. And talked about values, like marriage, being the foundation of our society.

There was not a single attack point that was left out today. It was Republican radicalism at its finest. Woven throughout with lies and innuendo. But the sad fact is, it was good enough for the Republicans to believe. And that is all that matters to the present "leadership" in the White House. You are either with them or you are against them.

That is the reality. They will have their numbers out in large force. We can expect to hear the points made today over and over and over. After the Democratic cheering is over at the Democratic convention, they will come out like termites celebrating the destruction of the foundation of the house that was once called America. This is no time for the faint-hearted or the queasy. George W Bush must be slapped down in defeat. There can be no pity for such a man. Keep your powder dry and keep a little reserve bread for strength in the days ahead.

1. The problem with their old tried and true is that
they have no new plays and our team knows all of their plays. Kerry continues to insist that all votes will be counted this year, as if dems are prepared for the tricks the thieves pulled in 2000. Gore did win, just the a**holes were so slick, no could believe how diabolical they were. Now the truth is known. I think using the old script helps, knowing their games and how low they can stupe is very beneficial. It will be hard, but I feel like we got 'em and they know it.

3. very astute observations
keeping a supply of bread is not a bad idea.

canned foods too and survival stuff

being somewhat of a holocaust scholar of sorts I would say the dangers of not being prepared certainly outweigh the inconvenience of keeping a few supplies in the event of an improvident blizzard or martial decree.

I am reading Primo Levi's "If not Now, When?" about the partisans on the Eastern Front during the winter of 1944-45.

They gathered wild grasses to eat which they taught the children to identify.

very chilling and inspiring.

they hooked up generators with bicycles and charged batteries for their radios.

quite something

4. so true
I watched as much of Bush* in York tonight as I could stomach, and while they're certainly defining their attack message there's something horribly wrong with the messenger.

Granted I despise everything about him, but I swear the man looks and sounds deranged, a dangerous lunatic. His body language, the inappropriate facial expressions, placing emphasis on the wrong words as though he doesn't fully understand the text, the weird bobbing head. I don't know how the average voter would view such performances, but he's clearly not all there and getting worse by the day. It's like a man in the throes of a breakdown.

Remember Poopy also went a little dotty when things started to look desperate. Recall the "bozos" comment and "ozone man...way out there, man". I think instability must run in the family.

6. If this is the best he can do
he'll lose. Did you see the faces of the people? No smiles there. No hope there. Looked like they were all forced to be there. The trick with the daughter there is so pathetic in comparison to the Kerry/Edwards families. I see more than a little disfunction here. In order to effectively counter Kerry/Edwards he needed to have the whole family there, especially if they were going to put it on the endless C-Span loop. I bet they have to pay the daughters to appear. If I were them, I would charge big bucks. Looks to me like he couldn't pay the other one to be there. Mr. Family Values, indeed.

8. I really think they should keep the happy hooker out of it
on the other hand, on second thought, maybe we should insiste they keep the happy hooker in it

This is truly something to not be proud of and something that should NOT be paraded before the American people as an example of "family" values

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it? Drinks like her dad and has the fashion sense of her mother.

I can't believe how inappropriate that costume is for the campaign trail. She looks like she just got rousted from a barstool.

11. The current Vanity Fair (the one with Beckham on the cover) has...
a very interesting article by James Wollcott about Bush's relationship
with all of the women in his life, including his daughters. Well worth
checking out.

You know, I find your reference to this young woman as the Happy Hooker
fairly offensive. She looks pretty much like any other not very well dressed
person of her age. Its likely she has been coerced in to doing this.
Apparently she does not particularly share her fathers politics.

13. well you are certainlyu entitled to defend this woman who is out there
campaigning for a monster who has virtually murdered tens of thousands of innocent people and has virtually caused the deaths of almost a thousand of our troops as well as the maiming of thousands of our troops also. All on lies.

I mean, she is out there defending those lies is she not?

and the defender of those lies that had thousands of our young maimed and hundreds killed, should be protected right? Especially since she is looking like a whore without any sense of dignity at all.

Come on==--she is a disgraceful looking hooker. There is no defense of this appearance in those hooker clothes for a woman who is said to be working on the campaign for her dad.

Someone should clue her in--but she might tell them , as she told the ss men, that if anything happend \to her her dad would have their head

Yup

She is indeed a chip off the old block , especially the awful and stupid block of her mother, Laura.

All of them, my friend, are raking in the bucks for an insane man, their husband and their father.

They deserve every bit of criticism at this point. There are no stops at all due top any sense of guilt at attacking these Stepfords.
'
They are out there raking in the dough for a maniac who has put us into the position of being the most hated country in the world

They are out there, my friend, supporting this in all their moeny and all their priveledge and all their wealth, even though it does not seem to afford them any sense of what it means to look dignified.l

This Jenna, the president's daughter, looks like a happy hooker to me and does not deserve any excuses at all from anyone opposed to
bush for her sloppy and slovenely appearance, He never once looks "
AT her but is very involved in looking at the camera for his own benefit.

The mother, Laura is not to be seen and one wonders where on earth she is ,(I think it was reported that she was speaking at a $20,000 a plate luncheon in Pennsylvania somewhere, believe it or not--people paid that amount of money to hear a dumassed woman read the speech she has memorized and given tons of times to others) but, were she to be involved here, I am sure she would be just as detached and unconnected to her own daughter as Bush is. She would be rictus smiling at the camera, looking off into a space that no one else is looking at and would not even notice her own daughter on the podium, so involved would she be in carrying off the image of herself she was told to portray.

The photo does not lie. Jenna is slovenly, sloppy, and slutty looking., She is indeed, the "happy hooker" by the looks of that photo.

14. I haven't heard her speak yet...
But I tend to agree with you...But, who knows, she may be on our side. After all, Ron Reagan, the ballet dancer , is a spokesman for our side - and a damn good one, I might add. I will withhold any personal attacks at this time.

16. that is fine
but, imo, this appearance, in this atrocious, whorish looking outfit, in and of itself, coming immediately after the appearance of the Edwards family photos, is a personal attack. Period.

It did not make it, however imo. It simply makes her look like a whore and the reason she looks like a whore is because she has NO sense at all of what she looks like or what dignity is or what it means to be dignified.

She simply looks trashy and looks as if she has no class at all, but only a lack of class in her choice of what to wear to a coming out on the political scene.

I am sorry if it offends those who want to apply some magical thinking to the poor victimized Jenna who smiles at the cameras while accompaying her father, who we know is a criminal that killed so manhy thousands of Iraqi innocents, but the fact is that she is an adult, she is supporting the policies of her tyrannical father by appearing on camera with him and she is not a poor little rich girl.

I simply cannot give her that out.

She is old enough to be able to assess what she is doing and what she wants to do.
We have not heard from her what she wants to do--all we see is an appearance that is. apparently, NOT forced , so we can assume that is what she wants to do--and that is campaign for her murderous father who we all know is not a nice guy. In fact some of us think he is acutally a very evil guy and are not willing to give him an 0unce of pathetic sympathy.

Apparently she chose to support tyranny and appeared in an outfit that was not complimentary - in fact it was rather sloppy and whorish looking for a young woman making her first appearance on the campaine trail It was not complimentaryh-either to the Bush campaign or to her self.

17. Like I said...
I will withhold judgement until I hear her speak and see where she is coming from...and not try to form opinions from appearances alone. But, if she agrees with her father's policies, she is a whore of a different kind.

18. well...
I think the outfit is sloppy, inappropriate and poorly fitted, but I wouldn't call it whorish, necessarily. It's just wrong for the occasion.

I think, though, that it demonstrates how little interest her parents take in her. Where in the hell was her mother to advise her on appropriate campaign wear? Why didn't her father say something to her when he saw her outfit? No, they don't care and she's only being dragged along as a prop to counter the Edwards family - well, we see from the photograph how badly this backfired. Their neglect puts this girl in the position of being mocked and called 'slutty' because she obviously doesn't have a clue and gets no parental attention.

I wonder if he'll prance her in the south looking like this and crow about how he 'shares their values'. That'll be a keeper.
