Germany and France Deal Blow to Bush hopes for wider NATO (IRAQ)
Wall Street Journal (page a12 6/29/04)

In reading the article, Bush is trying to "fool us again". Germany and France shot Bush down when it came to a wider NATO initiative for IRAQ. The agreement is watered down to some countries training Iraq personnel (outside Iraq).

In fact, Jacques Chirac is saying training will not be under a NATO flag."I don't believe it is the purpose of NATO to be active or intervene in Iraq. I also believe there would be tremendous negative consequences that would outweigh the benefits," Mr. Chirac said.

I bring this up because in listening to bush* this morning (speech in Istanbul)you would have thought the "seas had parted" and NATO is blessing a democracy campaign for the Middle East.

In reading the article, the NATO meeting accomplished MUCH LESS than they had hoped for.

Our fearless leader misleads us again with his words.

1. It said in the paper yesterday that NATO was in...
I hope they won't let us off the hook for the mess we created.

2. the details coming out are not exactly pro bush...this is from the WSJ
article on page A12.

Germany and France are a big part of NATO and refused a "wider role". Of course shrubco will paint it differently ...but you read the quote from Chirac...quite clear.
