Archbishop says pro-choice voters should confess
Archbishop Raymond Burke said Thursday that Catholics cannot vote for candidates or policies in support of abortion and be worthy to receive Communion.

"We always have to remember that it's objectively wrong to vote for a pro-choice politician," Burke told KMOX Radio. "People could be in ignorance of how serious this is. But once they understand and know this and then willingly do it, vote for a pro-choice candidate, then they need to confess that."

Incredible. Maybe the Catholics I know don't represent the majority of them, but none that I know will be following this advice.

1. And this is why I am a protestant.

No offense to all my Catholic relatives, but I just can't stand the thought of being ordered to "fess up" to this sort of thing.

:eyes:

Of course, it might be fun to sneak into a confessional and admit that I think Dubya is the Anti-Christ. That could be fun. *l*

Would Jesus love a liberal? You bet!

3. Tax their republican
asses off. Write to the cardinals and tell them to go to blazes. That is what I did. They are Republican right wing jerks. They should worry about the right wingers and their attitude toward the poor and children. I left the church some time ago. It got too stifling for me.

5. I guess they're going to compensate for the lack of priests
by eliminating a great many of their parishoners.

By the way, does that ringleader of the New England pedophile gang, Cardinal Law, get to receive communion?

Just asking.

6. He's not MY bishop, so he can go fly a kite!
My bishop is actually a reasonable man who's continually spoken out about the dangers of the Church injecting itself into the political arena. Please realize that THAT FOOL is only speaking for himself...

7. I don't confess to non-sins
And if it's a vote between pro-choice Dems and pro-war, pro-death penalty, anti-welfare Repubs, WWJD, Bish?

Glad I'm not in your diocese...

8. Are the priests who are pedophiles
allowed to take communion?

Does anyone ask them if they still have pedophiliac thoughts, even if they don't act on them? If they do (and I've been told that it's almost impossible to change those thought patterns), then it would seem that they would not be allowed communion.
