watching South Carolina crumble

http://www.christianexodus.org/

WELCOME TO THE CHRISTIAN EXODUS

ChristianExodus.org is coordinating the move of thousands of Christians to South Carolina for the express purpose of re-establishing Godly, constitutional government. It is evident that the U.S. Constitution has been abandoned under our current federal system, and the efforts of Christian activism to restore our Godly republic have proven futile over the past three decades. The time has come for Christians to withdraw our consent from the current federal government and re-establish the sovereign nation of South Carolina upon the Christian principles once so predominant in America.

1. So, we can next expect some sort of
document for secession from the union? Wow, * could really stand a chance of being a monarch at last if he moves there.

2. On the bright side
These nuts originally planned to turn the whole United States into their little Handmaiden's Tale kingdom. Now they are settling for just South Carolina.

Give it a few years, they'll all be able to fit comfortably in a single apartment.

6. Great, this again- Before the Southbashing begins, please note this:
This organization is based in Texas- NOT SOUTH CAROLINA!!! Why they want to relocate to SC is beyond me... guess property values must've really increased in the Waco-Crawford area.

24. Texas is Texas, actually
Edited on Thu Jun-24-04 01:33 PM by comsymp
Many Southerners and most Texans will be happy to point that out to you. Sad but true that, despite Sam Houston's best efforts they did ultimately join the Confederacy, though. Until (and ever since) then, they've pretty much gone their own way.

Kinda like Florida.

And most of the eastern states (and many in the midwest) were once slave states- which is how US Grant was able to be a slaveowner, so what's your point?

A Bunch of Right-Wing Whackos
Attempting to use a bastardized version of Christianity to justify separating South Carolina from the rest of the country?

That's soooo original.

7. Why bother?
Aren't they all pretty certain that "Rapture" thing is about to happen anyway? I mean isn't that why the Fundies and Bushies are supporting Israel? They just want all the Jews in one place so their "End of Times" thing can start. Georgie is their guy right? Are they so impatient or maybe uncertain that their wet dream of Rapture is impending that they are creating a backup plan?

Man these people make me sick! How any group of people could take the words of a nice Jewish Rabbi who just wanted everyone to play nice and turn it all around in to the bile they spew in the name of Jesus, I just don't even know!

12. Reminds me of something someone said about SC
back in the 19th century:

"South Carolina is too small to be a country, and too large to be an insane asylum."

(I say that with all the respect in the world -- Charleston has to be one of the beautiful cities on earth.)

22. Cool. Are they going to re-legalize slavery too? It's in the Bible.
For God's sake, this country was founded by slaveholders. They expressly included owning slaves in the Constitution.

Then those god-damn northern do-gooder liberals imposed their beliefs on the South and violated their states rights and their God-given right to own another person and things have gone down-hill ever since.
</sarcasm>
