RICHMOND -- Former radio talk show host Jon Matthews pleaded guilty today to a charge of indecency with a child in a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Matthews, 59, who resigned from his position at KSEV-AM 700 last year, was to go to trial June 28 but decided to accept the agreement after rejecting it last week, said Fort Bend County District Attorney John Healey.

In a pre-trial hearing this morning in the court of state District Judge Brady Elliott, Matthews' attorney, Stephen Doggett, said he wanted to speak with prosecutors about reconsidering the offer.

Healey said prosecutors were surprised by Matthews' decision.

"It was a possibility, but it was not anticipated," Healey said.

Matthews left the courtroom with his attorney and declined to comment.

The judge deferred the official finding of guilt and the sentencing until Aug. 2.

Connecticut Governor Announces His Resignation
By WILLIAM YARDLEY

ARTFORD, June 21 — Gov. John G. Rowland of Connecticut announced this evening that he was resigning from office, six months after questions about his relationships with people doing business with the state prompted an impeachment inquiry and refocused a federal corruption investigation on him.

"I acknowledge that my poor judgment has brought us here," Governor Rowland said in a brief address outside the governor's mansion as his wife, Patricia, stood at his side.

Lt. Gov. M. Jodi Rell, a fellow Republican who was on Mr. Rowland's ticket since he was first elected in 1994, will assume Mr. Rowland's office and complete his third four-year term, which runs until January 2007.

"Many challenges lie ahead, but working in a bipartisan manner we will return optimism, civility and pride to our great state," Ms. Rell said in a statement issued before the governor's announcement. "I will focus my energies on restoring confidence and trust in state government and I look forward to leading our state with a new sense of steadiness and determination.

4. kinky repig sex
SCOTT FORNEK AND DAVE MCKINNEY Staff Reporters

Actress Jeri Ryan accused ex-husband Jack Ryan of insisting she go to "explicit sex clubs" in New York, New Orleans and Paris during their marriage -- including "a bizarre club with cages, whips and other apparatus hanging from the ceiling."

Jack Ryan wanted her to have sex with him while others watched, the star of "Boston Public" alleged.

The Republican U.S. Senate candidate dismissed his ex-wife's allegations as "ridiculous accusations" and "smut" that she was dishing out without concern about how it would make their young son "feel about his parents or himself."

WHAT THEY SAID

Declaration of Jeri Ryan, dated June 9, 2000.
I made it clear to that our marriage was over for me in the spring of 1998. On three trips, one to New Orleans, one to New York and one to Paris, insisted that I go to sex clubs with him. These were surprise trips that arranged. They were long weekends, supposed "romantic" getaways.
The clubs in New York and Paris were explicit sex clubs. had done research.

took me to two clubs in New York during the day. One club I refused to go in. It had mattresses in cubicles. The other club he insisted I go to. . . . It was a bizarre club with cages, whips and other apparatus hanging from the ceiling.
wanted me to have sex with him there, with another couple watching. I refused.
asked me to perform a sexual activity upon him, and he specifically asked other people to watch. I was very upset.
We left the club and apologized, said that I was right and he would never insist that I go to a club again. He promised it was out of his system.
Then during a trip to Paris, he took me to a sex club in Paris, without telling me where we were going. I told him I thought it was out of his system. I told him he had promised me we would never go. People were having sex everywhere. I cried, I was physically ill.
became very upset with me, and said it was not a "turn on" for me to cry.
I could not get over the incident, and my loss of any attraction to him as a result.

Response from Jack Ryan.
I should not have to respond to the ridiculous accusations

5. Did Jon Matthews have any insults for Michael Jackson?
If he is a conservative talk radio guy, I am sure he had some insults to toss Jacko's way. They are all hypocrites.

had the lengthy, chronic crime record of the members of the Repuke Party, they would be put on watch lists or forced to disband.

These corrupt, hypocritical pigs are worse than a street gang or the frigging Mafia.
