While serving as a Special Assistant to Ronald Reagan, Rohrbacher is credited with having made it a personal mission to help establish the Mujahedeen in Afghanistan with the help of the CIA. He prides himself on being the most knowledgable person in Congress on Afghanistan. Below is an interesting article about him discussing his personal meeting with a very young Osama Bin Laden in the 1980's. There's a photo of Rohrbacher posing with future Al Qaeda fighters. There's even the suggestion that Rohrbacher continued with his ties to the Taliban AFTER 9/11 took place.

6. Did you hear his HBO stand-up routine this week?

I forget the name. He was absolutely saying humiliating things about Muslims, even agreeing with the treatment of those at Gitmo. He just kept on.....tell them they will eat what we eat, and so on.

Then he started his "get over" rants about the war and the elections. My hubby yelled turn that idiot off.

I have tried to watch him, and at times we find him funny and intelligent. I guess he keeps harping on two things we just can't "get over."
