i've seen a few newspaper articles that refer to him as 'the native son of the south'

i think we should start calling him the native son, which resonates in dual sense since he is a southerner and also came up from a working family through his hard work and intelligence. it sure is better than 'breck girl'.

there is a very big chance he will be the vp pick for kerry, and in that case it's almost certain he will run for president sometime in the future, especially if kerry wins. i think that native son does him justice as a nickname.

Maybe we take Arkansas, but that's because of an expanded role for the Big Dog before JE.

And, before the Edwards crowd grabs their flamethrowers, I think JE will do a great job as veep nominee, helping us across the Midwest where his economic populism played great during the primaries. It's just that the South is the Heart of Republican Darkness, and Kerry-Edwards is even polling behind Bush in Edwards' home state (I'd welcome any polling date to the contrary).
