It's Clinton's fault!
The other day, during my cashier shift at Rite Aid (yes, you may pity me), I was selling cigarette filters to a middle aged couple. I told the man the price, and he said something to the effect of, "I bet Clinton had something to do with this." And he was ABSOLUTELY SERIOUS.
To that, I can only say: :wtf:

1. Ah... the predictable "blame Clinton first crowd"
To your average right-winger everything that is negative to them is Clinton's fault. While at the same time, everything that is good for them was due to Reagan. WTF indeed.

10. Rush the lush started that in the early nineties...
...When the big dog raised taxes on the upper class, and told Larry King "I would present a five-year plan to balance the budget." it was met with 7 X 24 screaming on AM hate radio, about how this will destroy the American economy, blah blah blah, and then when this started to happen:

The same morons then said, it will never keep going, the economy is getting ready to collapse, blah blah blah and then when this happened:

The screaming stopped, because they were starting to look stupid now, and then all of a sudden this happened:

Fuck that jerk. He's the one that started all this garbage.

3. That's a very odd statement since all the laws
raising the cigarette prices I believe have taken place in the last few years under Shrub's watch.

I'm not sure what Clinton or his administration had to do with cig taxes. Did they put any laws on the books before/during their admin.?
Someone let me know if they did or not.

6. Cigarette prices
have climbed steadily since the mid 80's due to "Sin-Tax" and also as a result of the tobacco settlements. They have occured under Raygun, Clinton, and both Bushes, though some increases have been state, rather than federal policies. The Big Dog is no more or less responsible than other presidents.

4. We should start a meme: "A hundred years from now the Republicans...
will be blaming Clinton!" accompanied by derisive laughter. After this is heard a few hundred times, anyone who tries to blame anything on Clinton will look like a fool.

Whenever possible, say things like, "Looks like rain, must be Clinton's fault!" Or "Geez that sun is hot, must be Clinton's fault!"
Market's down, must be Clinton's fault!" "Bush screwed up again, must be Clinton's fault!" AFter a while they will be ashamed to even think it.

5. Awesome plan.
Sort of like how the Right made Liberal into a dirty word. We can use their own tactics against them. Nice idea rfranklin.

7. Funny you suggest if Clinton did do something to limit the poisonous
products from society he should have some blame attached to him. I feel it is just too bad he didn't raise taxes by five dollars minimum per package. If it helps stop one child from ever starting such a filthy horrendous habit it would have been worth it. I'm sorry I can't give as much credit to him as to Bush 1.

9. I remember that...
Wasn't there something in the original charter of the FDA that prohibits them from declaring tobacco as a drug?
