When Randi said Fox only had 850k listeners, surely she must have meant in
New York only. I can't believe they would have that few viewers in the whole US. I thought they beat CNN in the ratings, and I'm positive CNN has more viewers.

5. believe it or not, that's about the average number
maybe a little less.

cnn averages around half a million.

keep in mind though (and this is where fox lies) cnn has more ACTUAL viewers than fox. (called per cume)... it's just that fox viewers watch for LONGER periods than cnn viewers, thus boosting its ratings. and cnn still makes much more than fox in advertising.

6. If you're talking about viewers, does this include
the capacity (set by fire marshalls) for restaurants and other such buildings where the boss insists that the TVs in the corners blast out Faux News?

That's a sure "ratings" boost. I'd love to see the numbers "as reported by a restaurant" for Faux viewership and their actual numbers of clients for the exact same time. If they were that good, then the restaurant help must be making about 50 bucks an hour on tips alone. And that's the cheapskate tips, not the good tippers.

7. Some Facts For You.......

In 2002 FOX averaged 1.1 million viewers for the primetime hours.

CNN averaged 785,000 viewers for the primetime hours.

MSNBC averaged 302,000 viewers for the primetime hours.

This data is from a march 2002 PBS study called cable news wars.

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/media/cablenews/

Only 2 or 3 FOX shows average a million viewers, that means 299 million Americans
are not watching them.

And CNN actually has more viewers per month than FOX. The way they calculate the ratings
lets FOX claim to be #1, but CNN has more actual viewers per month.

8. Remember Al Gore's comments on Fox News?
Quote:

Most of the media been slow to recognize the pervasive impact of this fifth column in their ranks—that is, day after day, injecting the daily Republican talking points into the definition of what’s objective as stated by the news media as a whole."

from Joe Conasen: http://www.observer.com/pages/story.asp?ID=6665

Fox News was never supposed to be anything more than a (Rupert Murdoch financed) outlet to jawbone the other media outlets into responding to their phony baloney stories. Distribute the repuke talking points.

I have never watched Fox. To me, it is not a legitimate news outlet. I did go protest it in NYC, however.
