Enough!! It's nose holding time again.
After hearing Powell spin the beheading to justify the alleged "war on terror", I've had enough.

I've been railing against Kerry and the DLC ever since his dispicable IWR vote. I'll continue to call him on his timidity and avoidance of the issues that are destroying this country.

But, to my fellow lefties, irreconcilables, Jacobins, fringies, pinkos, commies, anarchists, and all the other monikers that the DLC apologists love to slap us with, I've decided to vote for Kerry anyway.

Not because I think that he's a great candidate, or even a good liberal, but because of the pure, unmitigated, evil and ambition of the pack of jackals now infesting the White House.

We've been suckered again into the "not as bad as.." scenario. But, in this case, the "not as bad as.." is truly a chasm.

I doubt that Kerry can win unless he breaks decisively from the "play it safe", "I'm not really a liberal", "we must get the middle", sellout artists that seem to be in charge of his campaign. But, as poor a candidate as he may be, he's the only chance we have of, at least, slowing this country's descent into thinly disguised corporate fascism.

I'll load up on the Pepto-Bismol, clamp on a clothespin, avoid mirrors the day after, and vote, yet again, for the "not as bad" candidate.

Hell, I just slapped a Kerry bumper stickie on my car, without too much pain.

1. Welcome.
I felt the same but made the decision a little earlier. Kerry is now above my Kucinich bumper sticker. It sucks but hey, he ain't Bush*. I actually think he may be OK, he ain't Bush*.

2. Kerry is known as a finisher
I think he'll start hitting his stride when he picks his VP.

3. I got a Kerry sticker on my car too,
but I'll be voting for Nader in NY. Perhaps I'll GOTV down in Ohio for Kerry, but very little planning is being done for the swing states locally.

As far as Kerry goes,
I oppose NCLB, free trade over fair trade, the PATRIOT act, and the war.

Go Kerry , beat Bush!

6. Yeah. I live in a "safe" state.
But, not as "safe" as NY. Polls say it's a 5% difference here in WA. Just too close for me to comfortably not vote for Kerry. Keep up the good fight, we'll rid ourselves of the DLC yet.

7. WA ain't safe!
I mean, what I do in the booth is my biz, and I only crap on Kerry here at DU cause I have repressed resentment for all those "best and brightest" Kerry folk that shit on Dean (remember all those primary mud fests?). Anywho, I love Nader, and actually like Kerry much more than Dean in alot of ways, except for charisma and energy. I've never seen so much energy in a campaign.

9. Good going, bandera!
I'm a Deaniac who's had to do some major adjusting to accept Kerry -- so I hear you, loud and clear.

We've all got to stick together on this -- from moderates to the fringe, every last one of us.

Best to you -- :toast:
