Paul Johnson died, but who cares
Why is his death more important than the 837 US soliders who have died in Iraq? Why is his death more important than the thousands of innocent Afghani and Iraqi civilians who were killed in our war on terror? I am sad that he died, but I don't think his death deserves the attention that its getting. He is no more special than any other person who has sacrificed themselves in our war.

14. Yes, some people theorize that the people being taken hostage and
beheaded are taken up either by U.S. soldiers or people in thier employ.

9. It's like hitting a wall...
This neo-conservative-controlled media has produced a few double-edged swords. Also known as Divide-And-Conquer.

7. well he was killed in Saudi Arabia
Edited on Fri Jun-18-04 01:29 PM by neoteric lefty
which is supposedly a staunch ally of America. There is more to this story than meets the eye, in terms of the captors intent towards the Saudi royals. It is still to early to tell anything, though.

17. I think you are right
in terms of why the captors did this in Saudi Arabia. But, I don't think Paul Johnson was anything more than an aviation engineer at Lockheed Martin that got kidnapped. Let's make sure we don't disparage the dead.

8. He's no more important.. but he's no LESS important.
Get the distinction? I care about ALL humans. I'm not going to add more significance or take any away from ANY death. Just as Pat Tillman's death was tragic, equally tragic were the deaths of the soldiers that didn't have millions of dollars to give up, only their life and family.

This is a tragedgy. They're all tragedies. Your title and post are kind of offensive, but I get your point. Sometimes you shouldn't use a sledgehammer, when a slight tap would do just as well.
