DU Experts - Need Help re: 1993 WTC Bombing

I was having a conversation with a friend last night. Although she hates * and everything he's done, she started ranting repeating the RW talking points about Clinton doing nothing in regard to terrorism.

I reminded her about the fact that the Yemen government stopped cooperating with officials regarding the Cole attack, the cruise missle strike in 1998 which missed Osama by mere minutes, the fact that Clinton's team drew up plans to get him, the foiling of the LAX plot, etc. She calmed down and agreed with me.

When I got to the 1993 WTC bombing, she insisted that the guy who had masterminded the plot was deported and when they were flying him over the towers, he said "next time we'll knock them down" and that this guy was involved in 9/11. I said no, all the 93 bombers are in jail, including the shaikh from the mosque in Brooklyn (?) But she insisted.

Have I missed something here?

I have never heard that. I have only heard that they were all jailed. Even if there were some that we didn't get, I don't believe some bullshit story like the one she repeated.

3. On the morning of 9/11/01, newscasters were making a big deal

about how the WTC was close to the place where the mastermind behind the 93 WTC attacks was being held. I specifically remember this, as if the newspeople were already tying the two attacks together.


So yeah, the guy behind the 93 attack is in custody, has been for a while....can't remember his name.

4. I Just Remembered the HBO Movie Regarding the 1993 Bombings

and went to look it up. Apparently, at the end when one of the bombers is in custody, the conversation my friend refers to takes place between his character and the Peter Gallagher character while they are in a helicopter over NYC and the Towers. Perhaps that's where this comes from.

Does anyone know the veracity of that scene?

5. Not only is the "Blind Sheik" still in jail.

But last I heard his lawyer was in jail also because she passed a message from him to his family. This man is allowed no contact with the outside world.
