I'm pretty disappointed in the media, Re: Paul Johnson...
Every mainstream media source there is has been pushing this story hard today. Gee, there wouldn't be a mandate from above on this would there? Otherwise, why would the media go out of it's way to facilitate terror like this? I'll tell ya this...having terrorism shoved down my throat sure does leave a bad taste in my mouth.

2. I think because so much attention is spent on one person like this that
all Americans are worse off. I know I sound like the wingers complaining about the media coverage of the torture incidents but IMHO they are apples and oranges. I think our extreme agitation over a single captured American delights them to no end and will give much encouragement to them to duplicate this act. The torture photos just dismayed and angered them. I could be just talking out my ass but I think our Media just plain goes overboard at the wrong times.

3. Is this a real hostage taking? I am not convinced, I think there
just might a miraculous rescue but I could be wrong. I just find it very strange that Johnson's ears as well as his his were covered with cotton and taped. What other hostage video have you seen that did this. Hostage takers seem to relish their victims looking imploringly at the camera.

6. the reason im skeptical....
is because of the quality of the video that was released. does anyone else think that it was just too "well done"? it even looked as though there were some post-production effects added to it.

7. Now that you mention it . I did think the cut to the hostage-taker
with mask and gun was rather slick and over the top. It is like "take-a-really-good-look-I-am-terrorist-the-kind-you-see-in-al-aqaeda training videos".
