"The press, with all due respect, (is) often times lazy" -Cheney. . .
Edited on Fri Jun-18-04 09:31 AM by wndycty
Me thinks Tricky Dick might not want to pick a fight with these people. However he is partially right, if the press were not so lazy we would know about his energy meetings. . .hmmm. . .I think Tricky Dick might wake the press up, but he might not like what happens when they stop being lazy!

"The press, with all due respect, (is) often times lazy, often times simply reports what somebody else in the press said without doing their homework."

Members of 9/11 commission found "no credible evidence" that Iraq was involved in the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks carried out by al Qaeda hijackers, and they concluded that there was "no collaborative relationship" between Iraq and Osama bin Laden, the network's leader, according to details of its findings disclosed Wednesday at a public hearing.

1. Not just lazy...
They're downright incompetent. Unfortunately for Dick and George. They'd likely be impeached and in jail, if the press expelled any due vigilance.

3. Yes Dick should be careful what he asks for. . .
. . .I join Tricky Dick in calling for the press to stop being lazy.

5. Mmmmm-hmmmm. He only says that to intimidate
H ewould wet himself if the Press started pulling at any one of the DOZENS of loose-thread of corruption hanging from HIS coat.

Fuck you, Ruthless Dick!

14. thanks sadie
glad to be here, but i am being serious (i know you were too). i have never gotten a straight intelligent answer as to why people still support this fascist regime.

these people cannot even have a civil and intelligent conversation about it either. its almost as if anytime i ask a question to these fools regarding their support, i get blasted with profanity and anti-kerry rhetoric.

so even know i am being prejudice, i have to conclude that these people must all be reading at a 3rd grade level.

18. Because of the taunting, irrational responses you get from RW
I can only suppose it is brainwashing in churches. They have to believe with 'faith' and not question the why of anything. It is 'blind faith' and ill begotten but to them it shows they have faith. They are taught to argue with quotes from the bible as if it makes what they say right....

They use guilt, taunting, and shame to communicate....

20. i dont know....
not sure about the brain washing in churches, but it defintely has to be related to religious propaganda. when will people wake up and realize how ridiculous and dangerous religions are?

7. That's certainly true, Mr. Cheney
In fact, it's been the basis for your whole corrupt administration, hasn't it? Knowing how reluctant the press, print and electronic, is to actually delve into things, you've played them for 3½ years. Hiding away documents and the people's business behind specious claims of "privilege" or "national security", and in some cases, no claim whatsoever, because you know that the reporters are more worried about being invited to the "in" parties than they are in getting the story.

You should all have adjoining cells so you can still have your parties, while decent society gets on with the duties of running the country.

10. As Lazy as Dubya in his first year?
When he played on his ranch for an entire month while the terrorists put the finishing touches on their plot to kill 3000 Americans? I'm sure that was just a "coincidence".

11. This is just part of Operation MediaSmash.
The current order of the day is an all out assault on the press. This is similar to the other smear campaigns they have run, but this time targets an entire industry.

16. Cheney et al continue to play the BLAME Game...
...First they blamed the CiA for bad intel-
...Then they singled out Valerie Plame and revealed her as an undercover agent.
...Now they are blaming lazy reporting by the newspapers..

How many journalists have given their lives trying to get the Truth out?
The details of the run up to the War and what has happen during the war with Iraq?
The mortality of journalists covering the politics of this war is in the hundreds.

When the news media wakes up, Cheney could be the benefactor of "good" news, the Truth.

19. That remark could be the junta's undoing:
I always thought that Rule 1.0 in politics was to not piss off the press. And here is Dicky throwing down the gauntlet in front of the New York Times. Watching to see if NYT has the cojones to pick it up will be interesting.

Journalists now have an opening to go for broke on this one..
