There's an interesting thing about Bush Sr. on the new Simpsons DVD...

On the Fourth Season DVD that came out this week, there's a short documentary called "Bush vs the Simpsons". It's about a really weird exchange of letters between Barbara Bush and Marge Simpson. Marge reads her letters, and the voice that reads Babs' is the bitchy schoolteacher that everyone hates. Then it shows a speech Bush Sr. gave when he said "American families ought to be more the Waltons and less like the Simpsons". It's a very surreal reminder of Republicans' being threatened by fictional characters, and it's also really, really funny.

We own Seasons 1-4.

2. i remember cbs news

when bush sr said that. cbs showed the simpsons' reply with bart saying. "hey we're just like the waltons, we're waiting for the depression to end, too."

3. That was a fun segment

It really shows how desperate the Bush's got during '92 and revealed Barbara Bush as Queen of the Harpies.
