10. I hope not.
He's probably required to pay fair market value. Otherwise it's a donation to his campaign.

4. He has to spend all that primary money on something...
I would also put it to you that he can't afford NOT TO have it. Bush has Air Farce One. Besides, this is one thing he can spend that primary money on that benefits him after the convention, when the ways he can use it become sharply limited.

25. Good Point.
I hear he's raking money in hand over fist right now. When he gets the official Dem nod isn't all that money no longer available?

Time to convert to hard assets that can be used later.

7. Rainless Blur ... what are you going to post next?
Pictures of Kerry's houses? Questions about his "$1,000 haircut"? A link to Kerry-opoly?

Give me a goddam break. We all know Kerry is loaded thanks to his wife. If you wanna make a point about that, have the sack to do it straight up.

I don't think he will put up his entire fortune, Shrub is also loaded. Plus he mortgaged his house to pay for his campaign... Anyways in the end Shrub is going to outspend him by a large magnitude..

27. NHDem, You missed the point
I thought his plane was cool and you'd all like to see it. "Wonder how much it costs" was just inane smalltalk. Chill out, ok?

12. Compare the cost of chartering jet....
Probably around a million or so a month, to the cost of transporting everyone by other means.

It actually saves money to do that.

13. I've seen it upclose
It's a beautiful plane and very inspiring, especially when the president comes out the door to speak.
How can he afford it?
By people like me giving what we can to get rid of the fucking evil that has our country by the throat, that's how.

20. Kerry's hardly the first one to have a plane for campaigning
Candidates have been finding ways to afford that for quite some time. How else can they campaign in California one day and New York the next? At least it isn't free like AF1.
