Faux News on the NY Thruway
Edited on Thu Jun-17-04 09:41 PM by WMass astronomer
Tuesday I had to drive the New York Thruway. At a service station somewhere between Rochester and Syracuse, Fux News was on all the TVs.

Do you think that was just the work of an individual at that service station? Or is there some kind of institutional agreement to show that crap at all the stations?

In the five minutes I was there, the skanks at Fox got through the main talking points of the day. And they're still running Al Gore's speech from, what, three weeks ago.

on edit: After offending deadheads, I hope to avoid offending any skanks who may be reading.

2. They show it in Grand Central -
In the big newstand. They have four big TV's showing FOX-News only. It's horrifying.

5. Have you ever asked why?
Is it a matter of Faux buying time on the vids, or is it something else?

6. I don't ask
but my guess is that they have a contract with the vendor to provide free TV's or something. There are signs under the TV's that say Fox News.

4. The next stage is television tee-shirt ads
I'm 100% serious.

A company found a way to put a tv screen in a tee-shirt and are sending people out into the public wearing them. The first product you'll see advertized in this style is the movie "I, Robot".

FROM SLASHDOT:

Lord_Dweomer writes "The Hollywood Reporter brings us the next trick up marketers' sleeves. A new t-shirt with an 11" display and 4 stereo speakers was unveiled at E3 last week playing a trailer of the new I, Robot movie soon to be released. Unfortunately the company behind them, San Francisco based Brand Marketers, has announced that they will not be for individual sale. When will I be able to watch a movie on my sleeve?!" Update: 05/20 15:38 GMT by M: i4u writes "We just reported about Irish Adwalker which uses Xybernaut equipment for a more high-end Video T-shirt. Also we saw the brandmarketers Video T-Shirt at the Wired Nextfest 2004."

http://slashdot.org/articles/04/05/20/1324222.shtml?tid=137&tid=196

It was also reported by Reuters and AP, but I can't find any links at the moment. Soon we will have ads plastered over every available surface.
