On edit: this was during the pre-invasion period, not recently.

It's about a more recent round of 'retirements' in the summer of 2003, but mentions the earlier 'retirements', including Shinseki later down in the article.

I'll bet that I read about these in another article that added up all the Generals since Rummy came in, and that figure was over 50. Your links are excellent...

By the time a guy is a general, he has been in a LONG time.. I think a lot of them saw the handwriting on the wall, and realized what an IDIOT Rummy was..They probably just decided it was time to get out before he dragged them down with him
