Way to go, Howard. In London he condemns Bush and mercenaries.
http://news.ft.com/servlet/ContentServer?pagename=FT.com/StoryFT/FullStory&c=StoryFT&cid=1087373082166

SNIP..."Howard Dean, one-time frontrunner in the Democratic presidential race, said on Thursday that President George W. Bush had "unintentionally abdicated the traditional American role of leadership . . . by alienating virtually every ally we have."

Mr Bush, he said in an interview with the Financial Times, "had dealt himself out of some of the most important decisions that are made internationally. We are not as big an international player that we were before he took office."

SNIP..."Dr Dean, who has endorsed the party's presumptive nominee, John Kerry, was in London to speak to a financial conference and to address a Democrats Abroad "party unity rally". The former Vermont governor said: "For the most part, I don't think there's an anti-European feeling in the US. I think there's an anti-European feeling in the government - 'old Europe' and all that humiliating stuff. I think most Americans are embarrassed to be held in such low regard. We're like everybody else; we like to be liked."

SNIP..."Of the torture at Abu Ghraib prison, He said: "I think it reflects an administration that doesn't have a grip on what's going on," with discipline breaking down because responsibility had been given to contractors.

"The idea that we have a private mercenary army that's doing these things is appalling," he said."
END SNIP.

2. Good article, I still love Dean, I hope that I am reading about him 20
years from now.

It is a good article and as usual Dean is right on, talking about the private mercenaries is incredibly important.

I'm glad to see that he is privately advising Kerry, Dean is one of our big guns now. I can't wait until the DNC where he, Bill Clinton, Ann Richards, and everyone will be speaking.

Thanks for posting.

15. Ah, speaking the truth out LOUD!
So sad that that is not what the Democratic party is about now.

The one thing Gov. Dean did prove during the lead up to the primaries - PEOPLE WANT CHANGE. TPTB do not.

Dean for America!

any of Howards music until he makes a public apology? Makes me want to go out and buy some Dixie Chicks CD's. Gotta love Howard, he is such a valuable asset to the Democrats. Only Dean can do what Dean does so well. Howard Dean Rocks!

21. You know, I would betcha he was.
Have not seen him in a while, but I know the event was going to be listed at the DFA UK site. Hope we hear how it was.

It is healing to have one of our guys speak out for us abroad. I feel like I have a voice through Dean's speaking and through the True Majority ad.

22. And today the whole VT National Guard placed on alert.
"Entire contingent of Vermont National Guard...
placed on "Alert" and told to prepare for possible deployment in 90 days. This alert also triggers the DOD "stop loss" provision which prevents soldiers from leaving the service at their scheduled times. This means that 1500 civilian soldiers are about to undergo drastic changes in their lifestyles. This is scary shit and I fear something is up and it will not be in our best interests. We are a very small state and have already lost 10 of our citizens to this insanity.
Now This !!!"
