Why is Bush so reluctant to admit he ever gets scared?
I just read in another thread that when he was in that classroom on 9/11, he stayed in his seat because he wanted to project a sense of calm to the nation, rather than one of nervousness. And in his last press conference someone asked him what emotions he felt on 9/11. He said he felt "sad" and "angry", but why didn't he say he felt scared? I think most Americans were FUCKING TERRIFIED on that morning. Nobody knew what the hell was going on, or what else was going to happen. I sat glued to my seat, scared out of my mind for most of the morning until mental exhaustion set in, and I bet a lot people felt the same way.

So why won't Bush admit that he feels normal human emotions like fear? I wouldn't hold it against him, because how the fuck can you NOT be scared in a moment like that? The only thing more pathetic than just sitting and doing nothing while the country that you're in charge of is under attack, is making up some bullshit story TWO AND A HALF YEARS LATER about how you were trying to make kids feel better. Give me a fucking break.

1. Here in Texas that's a big sign of weakness
its the culture, at least to those of us born and raised here.

3. But why?
It's not a weakness, it's a natural response to extremely stressful situations. And isn't the definition of bravery (not that I'm saying Bush has a brave bone in his body) doing what needs to be done in the face of incredible fear?

And Bush isn't even a born Texan, he was born in FUCKING CONNECTICUT!

4. Because that is how true cowards act.

Men who have faced fear and looked it down are never afraid to admit their fear. Only those who have never faced fear proclaim their bravery. Bush lacks the moral courage to admit his failings. He is a man of little character. I am constantly astonished and saddened that, as a people, we allowed a man like this to (be appointed) the President of the United States. Truly sad days for America.

6. Because EMPERORS don't get scared!
Did Hitler get scared when FDR forced Prescitt Busht o stop laundering his Gold Tooth Money for him?

Did Stalin get scared when the true magnitude of the 1936-1938 Purges?

Did Ferdinand Marcos get scared when Benino Aquino started gaining populat=rity? No! He Wellstoned...well, JFK'd him actually.

Well, if none of Bunnypants* heroes cracked, then b'God, neither will HE!

7. He stayed in his seat
because he knew he would NEVER live down fecal incontinence.

Mystery solved? Bush returns to the classroom wearing the grey jacket. Has he changed clothes and if so, why? Watch the film where Andy Card informs Bush that the second plane has hit the WTC. The grey of the classroom floor is evident, the grey of Bush's jacket is not. Even if we can pass this one off, there's still the questions of the clock...

9. I've been scared for the last 3 1/2 fucking years
I mean major league, terrified, scared. And it won't let up until the band of thugs currently in power are far, far away from any of the levers of power.

And if that makes me a coward, so be it. But anyone who isn't scared about these people being in power is an irredeemable moron.

11. my 9 year old watched the timeline video
adn wanted to know why bush just sat there. i told him he didnt want the kids to get scared. his immediate comment without thought, it is ok if the kids were scared, they could deal with it, but bush was suppose to help the people dieing. they were more important

if a 9 year old can figure it out

further, then he is calming us all, by running away and not getting on camera until after 7 that night

incompetent is the word

12. It would blast to smithereens the public image his handlers have fostered
Swaggering Texas Cowboys with Jesus complexes, that carry a big gun and have to "rut out them varmints" cannot show any sense of fear. So how is it showing instead? He just gets crazier and crazier. How long before he dons a flight suit and lands in the middle of former site of the WTC? I predict this will happen. I also predict that he will probably wet said flight suit when he sees the protestors, so he will probably be clad in adult diapers as well.
