Advance F911 tickets - any successful purchases yet?
Like many of you, I have been trying for two weeks to determine where Fahrenheit 911 will be showing in my area opening weekend, and how to actually buy tickets in advance. Meanwhile, my ticket purchase list has grown from two to 12 (including some pleasant surprises in the form of friends who are traditionally conservative but really want to see - not protest - the film).

My question is simple - has anyone actually purchased their advance tickets yet? The theater list on the F911tix site for my state keeps changing, and I get a huge range of answers on if and when tickets will be available when I call theaters that might be opening the film. On one call to one theater that was on the site but isn't now, I talked with three different employees and was told three different days I should call or email back next week to try to purchase tickets.

Any success stories out there would be inspirational - I'm not ready to give up, but I am getting frustrated!

1. Yes...got mine yesterday...
..check with your local theaters.

BTW also sign up with MoveOn if you plan to attend:

Michael Moore's new film, "Fahrenheit 9/11," opens on Friday, June 25. An exploration of the Bush administration's actions after 9/11 and in Iraq, the movie won the grand prize in the world-famous Cannes Film Festival. The New York Times said, "Whatever you think of Moore… pictures that have been largely shielded from our view."

I'm going on opening weekend along with other members of MoveOn PAC. More than 70,000 of us are signed up and we're working to get 100,000 to pledge to be there. I hope you'll come too and see what all the fuss is about. Sign up to come along and find out how to buy tickets at:

I signed the pledge at moveonpac.org, and have emailed friends with a request to do the same.

Anyone else with successful ticket purchase experiences? Especially those not in larger cities and/or in more conservative areas like the southeastern U.S. (I'm in Alabama).

5. kick
sorry for the self-kick, but I really would like to hear from others. If lots of folks have gotten tickets already, I will keep up my efforts to buy mine ASAP. I've already gotten four more couples to line up babysitters to come along for the movie. NONE of these are people who would have made the effort to go on opening night without my encouragement.

If no one else is having any luck at this point, I'll just wait until a couple of days before 6/25 and hope I can track tickets down then. And if that doesn't work, I guess we'll all wait for DVD. I just really wanted to help make some small statement in my much-maligned state that there are indeed people who care about the truth and about doing the right thing.

11. what are the rules on
kicking your own thread throughout the day to try to give more DUers a chance to respond?

(I really do want to know if I'm violating any forum policy - or unwritten protocol - with this thinly veiled vanity kick!)
