WTF!!!! Is this going to stand in light of recent revelations of recorded convos between enron traders gleefully bragging about how WELL they are fucking the citizens (yes, Granny M. too) of big K? If so, how big a collective sap are we as a country???

2. you think it'll happen?
what will it take for us (I am speaking generally - not specific in any way to DUers) to revolt against just this type of overt corruption?

Edited on Thu Jun-17-04 12:21 AM by DEMVET-USMC
they owe Enron money ? How can this be ? Who owns Enron ? I thought they went bankrupt and no longer exist. BUSHCO and his pals just keep on finding new ways to steal from public and the greedy bastards keep getting away with it. Vote for John Kerry come November and lets put an end to all this arrogant greed. ......Oscar

6. Reply to both: Yoooowch!!! My brain!!!! this is absurdity
I have worked corporate AND criminal defense and I have never seen such a bizarre turnaround - it's like the powers that be are literally thumbing their noses at us plebes. Not that I'm paranoid.... but really - last week's scandal demi-jour was the tapes from enron traders gloating, now - it's "fork it over folks, we ain't DONE screwing you". What has happened to reality as I fondly remember it?

It's not "like". It is.

They will continue to do so until we get up off our fat lazy asses and take them to task.

12. actually, my pleasantly plump derrierre is toddling off to bed
as i am volunteering on a local radio channels' liberal political show WAY TOO EARLY tomorrow morning. It sounded good at the time... I am going to try to unclench my jaw over this last bit of insult-to-injury and take a nice hot bath, rant to the doggles, and then try to let it go for the evening.

5. And it's not just Enron
"The refunds California could have to pay would go to a variety of energy traders and wholesalers, including: $23 million to Enron; Reliant Energy, $33.7 million; Williams, $25 million; Dynegy, $16.1 million; Mirant, $26.7 million; and $33.2 million to Duke."

I bet the CEOs of these companies are all Bush Pioneers. Their brazeness is stunning.

7. musta missed the breakdown due to red haze over eyeballs
I got so pissed at the article in general, I am not sure I saw the actual number of millions refunded per company. As you put it, their brazenness is indeed stunning. Do ordinary normal americans even pay attention to this kind of corporate lechery?

9. Apparently if you send a bill these days you can demand
payment even if you didn't provide goods or services. This is what this is about. Hey, Ahnold, figure this one out. But you are just gonna borrow money at horrendous interest rates and leave us with the bill aren't you?

I say it's time we, the people of California, secede and put Gov. Shill on trial for RICO transgressions.

11. HERE'S MINE (to aaarnold): beeyatch -you owe the state of california
- millions for the phony recall
- hundreds of thousands for putting up with your eccentric governing style and misuse of OUR language
- court costs and penalties for the trial you will be involved in after you are tossed from office
- at least a hundred bucks from your own wallet for every person in america who's had to sit through one of your "movies"
** here's hoping federal reserve notes are flying out your ass, buttflame.

maybe I should reword that....
