Roy Moore = Bush's next judicial appointment?
is he really stupid enough to try that? We all know that appointment would be getting a filibuster hands down, but it'd make the fundies forgive Bush for just about everything he's ever done that's annoyed them. Might he actually go and appoint that nutcase?

1. Nothing would surprise me anymore
The wingnuts would be ecstatic. Of course, the irony of it would be delicious: Nominate to the Court a bozo whose claim to fame is that he doesn't think the Court HAS any authority.

3. Is he the one
who posted the Ten Commandments in the courthouse in AL? I was in line at the post office today when they showed a picture of it. One guy in line said to his friend that it needed to be gone since it was 'some Jewish thing', implying by his tone if it were Christian it would be ok. Ah, so nice to see stupidity and bigotry displayed so blatantly.

4. Moore's name has been floated by the beltway pundits - but I don't
see it - I suspect it is one of Orin's silly, stupid games as he tries to earn his own seat on the USSC by getting far right judges through his committee -

As in "if you don't ok this Judge, we will nominate Moore"

and then the Dems ok another Thomas in fear of a Moore nomination.

6. Yes, I heard rumors that
Bush was considering giving Bork a recess appointment in response to the filibusters.

7. Does anyone really think that after defying a federal judge's order
Moore will be considered for any judicial position? He claims that the federal judge cannot order a state supreme court judge to do anything, but he's going to take the case to SCOTUS (which he must not think of as "federal"). Talk about loose cannons!

8. Pryor's already in the process,
so I don't think there's room for anybody else from Alabama at this point. That said, if Pryor withdraws or is defeated, I wouldn't put it past these people to nominate Moore simply out of spite.

9. I was reading the article and thinking the same damn thing
Who wants to go to Alabama with me and help me remove a 2.5ton monument. Wouldn't that be a pisser if it was missing the morning!!

(Note to any FBI troll reading this - I live in Delaware and work until 8pm tonight. THere is now way I'd be able to get down to Alabama and do this so don't come looking for me if it's missing in the morning)
