Is James Baker's former law firm still representing the Saudis in
the 911 suit filed by victims families, or did I imagine that? So much has happened, it is hard to keep up with the next chapter in the saga of the of Shrub.

Given what has been redacted out of the Congressional 911 report about the Saudis, the idea that Baker's firm or former law firm could be representing the Saudis in such a case is really a pretty big story, it seems to me.

Anyone happen to know?

3. Haven't heard otherwise...
Here's an article from last April that refers to Baker Botts defending Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Saudi defense minister, against the 9/11 families.

www.informationclearinghouse.info/article3037.htm

(It was written by somebody named "Pitt".)

James Baker IS still a partner.

Of course, it should be pretty big story! (I can imagine the backgound clip of the fork-tongued one saying "the votes have been counted & counted"--can imagine exploration of links to the Carlyle group.)

But WE don't get to decide that....

4. It Should Be a Big Story
Republicans like Baker have no ethical sense about things like this. Former high government officials should simply recuse themselves from cases involving foreign governments, particularly when there is an argument that the government may have committed unfriendly acts toward us. But Baker knows so few people are paying attention that he can get away with it.
