3. for those on dial up here it is
Tenet has been wearing a wire for Fitzpatrick. This is the essence of "Chicago Style" prosecution. You get the biggest fish you can find. Then you flip him to get the boss. Tenet was the biggest fish. He wore the wire. That's the way you crack the mob. Once you have the tapes, he is free to resign. Cheney and Bush better lawyer up. Oh yeah...

4. Well, he had access to the absolute BEST clandestine equipment
So I can see how this would be reasonable.

Wow, that would be AWESOME.

6. cheney should NEVER have gone into the CIA headquarters...

so many spooks are saying that cheney's multiple visits were not just unusual, such visits have NEVER happened before....that usually, CIA goes to the VP's or pResidential office...and there's good reason for such protocols...because every single room at CIA is wire-tapped and video-taped....and you'll never know it...so much better than just a single wire....

EVERYTHING that cheney said, including his facial expressions were totally recorded at CIA Headquarters....

certainly, tenet has recorded, on hidden recording devices, every single thing that bush* has ever said to him, especially recordings in the oval office.....

it was the EXACT same arrogance that took down nixon, who had every thing he said secretly recorded for his own presidential record...and BOTH bush* and cheney were so stupid AND arrogant, they never thought that they would be recorded.....BTW, CIA people also know how to get judges approvals for taping too...

8. All the rooms wired like in the t.v. series, "The Pretender?"
I always thought it was odd how all those old tapes played on the Pretender had more than one camera angle. And so nicely edited.

9. Does Tenet have something on GWB
Certainly, GWB has enough unsavory events in his life, and GT would be just the person to have all the icky details. Tenet seems like a decent sort caught in political firestorms beyond his control. Even his resignation indicates he's calling the shots, and GWB is forced to follow. A wire would be the crowning blow!!

11. I think Tenet and got booted because of Valerie Plame
Wasn't the timing very interesting? George Bush goes and "lawyers up" on Wednesday because he felt he needed counsel in case the commitee investigating who in his administration compromised the identity of one of this country's intelligence agents -we all know Bush ordered it, and it was a blatant and deliberate compromising of our national security. Then the very next day -Thursday- Bush tosses George Tenet out. Could it be that George was tired of taking the heat for Bush (like the time when Condoleeza Rice tried to pin the State of the Union Address's Uranium reference blunder on him, only to have it revealed he warned them about it) or that he refused to go along with Bush version of events i.e., no one in the gallant Dubya's administration would compromise a CIA agent. This reminds me of the Watergate affair when Nixon got himself a private lawyer when he realized the Dash committee was getting closer to him. He also started throwing cabinet members under the bus, including the three men who knew the most :Mitchell, Halderman and Ehrlichman. Is history repeating itself? The Republican controlled Congress will never impeach Bush, but that doesn't mean Tenet can't spill a dirty secret or two. Of course I could be wrong about all this and Bush could be the most honest president we've ever had and would never play poiltics with our national security or a CIA agent's life.

16. So this means Fitzpatrick( I thought it was Fitzgerald) got something on
Tenent FIRST? Then had him go in wired up to get stuff on Bush and Cheney? So Tenent was free to just resign once the stuff from Cheney and Bush was in Fitzgerald's hands, and Fitzgerald won't go after Tenent for anything now? Works for me.

18. We're supposed to believe it when he can't even get the name right?
It's Patrick Fitzgerald, not Peter Fitzpatrick.

Weirder things have happened, no doubt, but I'd feel more inclined to believe it if the story could at least get the name right.

We DO know that Tenet took the Plame issue very seriously, so this, coupled with his complicity by covering for the Nigeranium crap might make him very willing to do such a thing. It still smacks of clumsy fiction, though.

Whatever.
