Minnesota girl's secret to backing the troops is all in the wrists

Jenessa Alexis Largent has 36,987 reasons to feel good about herself. And 20,000 more to feel tired. What started as a whim for the 12-year-old to remind herself of her uncle serving in Iraq has grown and grown. In April, Jenessa, of White Bear Lake, Minn., made herself a bracelet in honor of Sgt. 1st Class Mike Chamorro, serving in Kirkuk. Her friends liked the idea and also had relatives deployed — an uncle here, a cousin there. So she made more bracelets. The project “erupted like a volcano,” Jenessa said, and she’s sent out 36,987 bracelets. Her e-mail is jammed with orders for 20,000 more, many from troops serving in Iraq.

4. The "Viet Nam" bracelets that I made for my buddies....
were made out of strands of rawhide with a loop at one end and a rawhide knot at the other to slip through the loop and could be baptized in a special Vietnamese spicy linament (from a small green bottle) that would keep the bugs off you. Im sure I wasn't the only GI to make those? I still have one. :)

5. Also distinctly remember reading there were even "Iran Hostage" ones
since a book by one of those former captives made reference to them.

BTW To those who made light of the "psychological torture" they went through, I for one am sure "Russian Roulette" is nothing to be taken lightly.
