Was the Chimp drunk while giving his condolence message?
I heard the message of condolence from Chimp and I was wondering if he was drunk or drugged up. His spoke haltingly and had more pauses than usual. It sounded like he didn't know what to say (as usual) but he also sounded really weird, like his messages were being filtered through some 3 second delay system, just in case he said the wrong thing. Anyone else catch it?

1. Might have been jet lag
Then again, unless he has a script in front of him, he can't put two words together.

11. Yes, but he gave the same performance for Tenet's resignation
BEFORE he got on a plane!

The man is either drugged, mentally ill, or both.

Give him a break: he was eating a pretzel while riding his mountain bike.

4. I'm telling you,
the idiot should never be left on his own! I remember when he first took office, writers had enough STUPID remarks to fill a "Bushism" book and his handlers stopped letting him go out in public without notes because of it. He's such a damn fool. <sigh>

5. Yes, like watching 50's TV
the feed had lots of static and picture fuzzy still pic of Bush. I'm not sure but what this was deliberate so as to get all those
let's-go-back-to-the-50's sympathy voters. And, to think ABC news couldn't get a direct, live, visual - if they can
send pics from the moon .... we're in for another repuke super TV special over the next week.

6. yes...bush* has been binging on alcohol and drugs for at least the
last TWO weeks....it's hard to believe that anyone listening to bush* speak, or watch his falling over at the Air Force Academy, or falling on his face off a bike....or falling over during a meeting with the Italian Prime Minister...or watch bush* disrespect the Pope....

bush* has become completely incoherent in public....

perhaps tenet will say this right out loud...because someone needs to say it...point it out clearly to the American People...if anyone in the White House or close to the White House would just say it...they would be HEROS.....

It's seems like it's been going on for more than a few weeks
Up until recently, I thought GWB was possibly "dry drunk", a phenomenon seen in non drinking alcoholics who continue with the boozy behavior, even when off the bottle. However, in the last few weeks, he seems to have put on weight, had more than the usual difficulty with speaking, and occasionally unsteady gait and stance. Scarier and scarier.

8. Do you have to ask?
Asking if Bush is drunk nowadays is like asking if the Pope is Catholic.

10. I'm SURE Babs is the one that Nancy wanted to talk to
while Ronnie was 'iminant'.... can you imagine ? Also, notice how quick they were to try to demonstrate their closeness to the Reagans ? Nancy couldn't stand Babs... any of the Bushes really.

Bush Statement::

PARIS - Text of President Bush (news - web sites)'s remarks on President Reagan's death.

This is a sad hour in the life of America. A great American life has come to an end.

I have just spoken to Nancy Reagan. On behalf of our whole nation, Laura and I offered her and the Reagan family our prayers and our condolences.

Ronald Reagan (news - web sites) won America's respect with his greatness, and won its love with his goodness. He had the confidence that comes with conviction, the strength that comes with character, the grace that comes with humility, and the humor that comes with wisdom.

He leaves behind a nation he restored and a world he helped save.

During the years of President Reagan, America laid to rest an era of division and self-doubt. And because of his leadership, the world laid to rest an era of fear and tyranny.

Now, in laying our leader to rest, we say thank you.

He always told us that for America, the best was yet to come. We comfort ourselves in the knowledge that this is true for him, too. His work is done. And now a shining city awaits him.

May God bless Ronald Reagan.

15. At first, Chimp wasn't going to speak at all until tomorrow...
...except for a written statement (as reported by CNN's John King). That would've been poor protocol on his part (to wait hours to make a formal, live statement), so I assume they must've caught him soused...
