Crime and Punishment--I don't like that show
First of all these are real cases with real people and with real consequences. I also don't think the victims of these crimes should have their greiving broadcast all over TV.

Also has there been an aquittal yet on that series? I don't think there has been, but I haven't watched every week.

10. Aquitals are very rare in real world felony trials
If the DA has a very weaks case, they will not go to trial because it is a waste of time, money and resources.

If the case is a slam dunk, then an aquital is highly unlikely. The defense will take any deal, the DA offers. If the DA does not off, the defense might still plead guilty hoping for a leaniency. If it goes to trial, a guilty verdict is usually the result.

When the case is strong, but not a slam dunk, the DA will usually offer a deal. If this type of case goes to trial, it is more likely to end with a guilty verdict or a hung jury than an aquital.

11. That is true
The real world is hardly like TV. I read somewhere than 90% of all criminals are guilty.

12. Yes, C&P is to Law and Order...
what the Ewok adventure was to the Star Wars trilogy, the spin-off that sucks. It is much more like Cops than L&O, and I agree that real court proceedings have no place on TV. It should not be entertainment.

13. I agree
It purports to show the "real system of justice" but remarkably, that would seem to be a system in which all prosecutors are righteous heroes, all defense attorneys are slimeballs and all defendants are guilty.
