O'Neil/Suskind & Clarke on George Tenet.
Having read these "insider accounts", George Tenet does make an appearance.

In the O'Neill/Suskind book Tenet is at at a NSC meeting with Bush, where he is rolling out intel product and explaining what he thinks is a chem/bio warfare plant.

In the Clarke book, Tenet comes across as pretty comtted to getting the bad guys (some great scenes involving Tenet in that book).

So, maybe there is some truth that Tenet hyped the intel, or misread it. Clarke himself was quoted or has said he thought that Iraq might have had WMD, too....

So, though the timing of this resignation is questionable, maybe there is some truth to Tenet maybe misreading things in Iraq.

1. Willful ignorance is no excuse.
Trying to make the traitorous pnac megalomaniacs happy is still treason.

2. I don't believe Bush deserves any benefit of the doubt in this case.
I think Tenet does.

3. Yeah, you have to wonder how much of this was "sucking up to the boss"
From what I gather the real influences on Bushes descision making was not Tenet or the CIA, but Rumsfeld & Cheney and their neocon advisors.
