16. Years ago I had to cover my head when I went to St Peters.
But the laws may not be the same now.

17. head covers for women
Women must have their heads covered at a papal audience.

You don't want your head covered - sorry, you won't meet the pope.

23. We used to wear
these little things that looked like doilies. It was just enough stuff that you could say your head was covered. However, they changed the rule at some point and women don't have to wear anything on their heads anymore, at least in church.

6. It's time for the pope to step down...
He just can't be effective without being able to communicate or easily move... He became easier to understand in the end at least.

and Welcome to DU :hi:

Love the second one. Looks like the Pope is saying "Don't even try to pull anything slick, Sonnyboy. I've seen it all."

22. what do you mean,
"watch it with the antichrist stuff?"

There was an article from a year or two back dealing with the Vatican's concerns that W might be the individual mentioned in Scripture. Is anyone on here going to argue that W is living a Christlike life? I don't believe the Antichrist bit, but his words and actions are certainly in contradiction to virtually everything Jesus spoke to.

"George W. Bush proclaims himself a born-again Christian. However, Bush and fellow self-anointed neo-Christians like House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, John Ashcroft, and sports arena Book of Revelations carnival hawker Franklin Graham appear to wallow in a "Christian" blood lust cult when it comes to practicing the teachings of the founder of Christianity. This cultist form of Christianity, with its emphasis on death rather than life, is also worrying the leaders of mainstream Christian religions, particularly the Pope."

12. Anyone see the supposed arrival of Bush deplaning in Italy?
It looked like the same staged arrival event they did a few years back..

Their arrival overseas was filmed in a studio. The deplaning, smiling, waving to the crowds who weren't there, staged for media hype and public consumption.

I'd love to see it. Though, I don't doubt it, really. I mean, after all, they did PhotoShop the ethnicity of crowd members behind the chimp in one speech.
