I'm sorry for not doing enough to keep our troops out of harms way...

I am so embittered by that young boys death in Iraq today. It embitters me even more that he died a hero, while Rachel Corrie was considered by many to be just a stupid idealist.

The truth of the matter is they were both heroes. And so is everyone who ever died in every conflict past, present or future.

The day everyone understands this seemingly conflicting statement is the day all wars will be a thing of the past.

Here's a clue... the people who die are never the ones who orchestrated the conflict to begin with... almost never anyway

1. I'm With You Amy
It is a tragedy that we allowed Shrub to sacrifice young soldiers needlessly.

It is also a tragedy that we allowed the IDF to get away with Rachel Corrie's death.

No excuses for either.

2. Awe Dave ...I'm racking my brain wondering what more could of been
done . ....Remember policymakers got more letters opposed
than for the war . Policymakers and the Bush Administration
hold ultimate responsibility . The American People spoke
and we spoke very loudly .. We were ignored .

4. We should have
had we known, had we realized the how horrible it would be when our worst fears came true, loaded up into busses and gone to FLORIDA DEMANDING THE RECOUNT CONTINUE. DEMANDING THEY COUGH UP ALL THE MISSING BALLOT BOXES. DEMANDING THEY REDO THE ENTIRE FLORIDA ELECTION.

But I'm with you, we did what we could. We got out there, we wrote, we faxed. Trouble is they didn't care.

This is so unbelievably frustrating.

5. A Perfect Verse
There a verse in the Jackson Browne song of the album, "Lives in the Balance" that goes:

"I want to know who the men in the shadows are
I want to hear somebody asking them why?
They can be counted on to tell us who are enemies are
But they're never the ones to fight or to die."

7. Folks who can help bring 'em home are the media
As I listened to CNN Biznews (overseas version of CNN), they just announced 2 more U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq. If this show is real-time, that is in addition to the one that was shot at the University.

I am mad as hell at Bush & Co. for sending the troops over there to settle his family's vendetta with Saddam (or just grab the oil), but I'm even more upset at the free pass he and his entire administration gets (and keep getting) from CNN, CNBC, FAUX, ABC (although not Ted Koppel), CBS, and NBC. These networks help formulate American opinion on current events, because that's where most folks get their "news".

These same media outlets *stayed* on Clinton's ass during his entire term for every little thing he did, from his 1st Attorney General appointment (which he withdrew), to his sending troops into Bosnia (which he did in spite of Repub complaints).

We need to be targeting the media and demanding they hold Bush & Co. to the same scrutiny and criticism they gave to the previous administration.

11. I know that's right!!!!!!!
They picked Clinton apart. I can't wait for the day Bush gets caught with a prostitute, AND HE WILL. Either a blow job or some other kind of blow. Then of course, his religious followers will believe him when he says, the devil made me do it.

"A rich man's war, fought by the poor". Business as usual.

12. you mean the WH press corp?
I would suggest keeping Victor Ashe in the American conversation. I dont think prostitutes are going to help here.
