Any thoughts about the info being released today on Padilla?
Edited on Tue Jun-01-04 12:14 PM by keithyboy
I notice two things: a justification for holding all "enemy" combatants and I did not notice any mention of Saddam or Iraq. No connection.

Most of this info sounds pretty hoaky to me. How many "masterminds" did 9/11 have?

We are going to live in a police state...get used to it.

1. If it's too good to be true....
it probably isn't.

All this stuff he supposedly "admitted to" is just too good for Ashcroft.....

I'm reserving my skepticism.........

2. Going to?
We've been living in a police state ever since I can remember. It is just getting worse with less legal checks and balances.

3. Another thought
Information was released by a lower-level Justice Dept person...not Ashcroft......that means something.

Also, I didn't catch any mention of prosecution or plea-bargain. If that's not happening, what's the point of the media extravaganza?

4. Reason: to give the Bush admin cover for their attack on democracy
It's all so disgusting. I thought at a minimum they would try some circuitous route to link Al-qaeda operatives to Saddam.

5. Interesting
the Padilla story was blown off of MSRNC by the most recent, breath-taking update of the Laci Peterson Story.......

The Bushcos are finding out that the knife cuts both ways..........

6. Did they finally ever get around to charging him with a crime?
Or allowing him access to a lawyer?
