Memorial Day ceremony with bush*...
I am looking for verification or refutation of this story (i was out of the loop this weekend)...

I am friends with a couple that attended a memorial day ceremony that bush* attended. according to a mutual friend, they related this story:

at this ceremony, on the stage, was our nations oldest veteran, in a wheelchair. bush* came on the stage, gladhanding everybody, and gave said veteran a hearty backslap, causing the frail man to fall from his wheelchair and crack a hip. also, according to my 3rd hand hearing of the story, my friends were on the return flight with this veteran, who told them that the bush* people had told him they would provide ANY help he needed, hospitalization, etc, and he replied "I don't need any more of YOUR help!"

any truth to this story?

there's always at least one camera on any President when he's in public, since the Kennedy assasination

2. This is like the left wing version of a Clinton story
it sounds pretty far fetched but is still red meat for Bush haters.

3. The only thing I know
for sure is that Bush was standing too close to the microphone after he finished his address. He had a brief conversation with Rummy, which I couldn't hear clearly, but I did clearly hear him ask the MC , "Do I sit down now?" Thought it was funny that he had to ask for stage directions.

Didn't see him address a vet though.

4. I doubt that an elderly person
who had just cracked their hip would be up to flying (I doubt that a younger person would be up to it).

Sounds like something Bush would do - except he probably wouldn't offer any help.
