I salute and honor all current and former members of U.S. Armed Forces
My thanks and prayers for your wellbeing. I most dearly pray for the safety and wellbeing of those who are carrying the heavy burden of defending our Nation at this time. God be with you and may he bless and keep you safe and get you home safe and sound. A heavy burden is upon you all. Thank you for being there for me and the rest of the people back home. We all pray for your safe return. Stay alert, do what you have to do and get back home as soon as possible. I love you men and women and never stop worrying about you. ...Take Care, ...Oscar

2. Damn straight...
I salute any American who has ever given, ever will give, or would even put themselves into the position where they might have to give this country the last full measure of their devotion.

But I also lob an obscene jesture at the fools who call me a traitor because I'm willing to excercize my Constitutional right to protest when W squanders the lives of these magnificent men and women.

3. A-Men, and fuck the conservatives who say that that respect is mutually
exclusive with being a liberal, and fuck the liberals who live up to that stereotype, IE Ted Rall.

9. I salute all those that oppose war.
All those that have bravely taken a stand against the glorification of killing in the name of nationalism. Those that sacrificed their lives, their freedom, their citizenship, to avoid killing people because some politician waved a flag and told them that killing was noble.

10. yeah, yeah
"I was always embarrassed by the words sacred, glorious, and sacrifice and the expression in vain. We had heard them, sometimes standing in the rain almost out of earshot, so that only the shouted words came through, and had read them, on proclamations that were slapped up by billposters over other proclamations, now for a long time, and I had seen nothing sacred, and the things that were glorious had no glory and the sacrifices were like the stockyards at Chicago if nothing was done with the meat except to bury it. There were many words that you could not stand to hear and finally only the names of places had dignity. Certain numbers were the same way and certain dates and these with the names of the places were all you could say and have them mean anything. Abstract words such as glory, honor, courage, or hallow were obscene beside the concrete names of villages, the numbers of roads, the names of rivers, the numbers of regiments and the dates."

11. as an Army Veteran i'll use this day to salute
all those past and present who stood up and marched for Peace. those who advocated NOT sending our troops into unjust and illegal wars and those who continue to scream, "BRING THEM HOME NOW!"

for this Veteran is one of them and he was never prouder than the day he marched with his fellow humans on the capital of this nation demanding that Peace is Patriotic.

12. peace is patriotic as is desent
and it never sounds realer than when it's coming from the mouth of a veteran who's been there. all others just imagine it.

bring them home from this atrocity they call a war.
