2. He's waiting for October
You have to time that herion-junkie (and gasoline-junkie) AAHHHHHH! as the needle with heroin or cheap oil is injected into their veins.

To use Junkie terminology, if Bandar gives us our shot now, we'll peak too soon for Imperial Purposes.

Wait for it. It's coming.

3. I had a thought this morning.
Ralph Nader needs a job and if Kerry's elected I can't think of a guy who's more suited for Secretary of Energy that Ralphie boy. The oil companies deserve him. It's an elegant solution for a great big pain in the ass.

4. Europe feels your pain
My 50 liter audi took 45 liters the other day to the tune of 54 euro. Converted to US dollars, that's $65 for not even a full tank of gas.

Get used to it America~. Trade your gas guzzler for a Smart Car if you don't like the price tag on the tank.

7. this is a stupid question
but don't Americans drive more (or further distances) than Europeans?

where I live in the midwest we have minimal public transportation and wide open spaces.

5. It's not even Memorial Day yet!
The prices change around holidays.

I suspect that prices will rise until July 4th, then plateau, and start falling in mid-August, so that commuting students and their parents will see that our Wise and Courageous Leader is really making progress hammering those them A-Rabbs back into line.

My Prediction: BKL the Omniscient forsees the national average for a gallon of regular unleaded to fall to 1.899 by Election week. After that, expect at least three years of unbroken price increases:

$2.029 Thanksgiving 2004
$2.119 New Year's Day 2005
$2.999 New Year's Day 2006
$4.199 New Year's Day 2007
$5.799 New Year's Day 2008

We're "over the hump" ... that "hump" being the "peak" of oil production.

--bkl
I've been wrong, though. Terribly, tragically wrong.

6. CEO of Exxon says:
As long as there is political uncertainty in the Middle East gas prices will remain high.

Political Uncertainty. PU. GW* is responsible for this mess. It sure ain't Clinton's fault. Clinton oozed political certainty. Remember how Israel and the Palestinians almost came to peace? Remember also that gas was less than a buck then?
