I'm making a single as small as possible hypertext document detailing the Bush Administration's most heinous greatest hits. Anybody who helps will get as much (or as little) credit as they want.
No tinfoil allowed.
No Bush Knew it. Instead Bush blew it and then politically manipulated 9/11 to his advantage.
No Wellstone, BFEE or Bush body count. As few "partisan" attacks as possible. As much as possible, I need to stick to facts that were reported in multiple major media outlets -- and the whore-porate domestic media is "better" than the foreign press.
Major themes, so far:
1) Florida election hijinks. The 80,000 of so mostly black folks knocked off the voter rolls. Who has the best overview of this scandal outside of Palast's seminal work?
2) No deference to the fact that he had no mandate. Does anyone have any detailed evidence of this obviousness?
3) Bush & Enron. Bush coddling his corporate criminal cronies and both getting a free ride from the media and American public. Need the juice.
4) Cheney's Energy Task Force scandal. Need the juice.
5) Bush, unique to every President in my political life, actually DOWNTALKED the economy in an effort to push through his initial tax cuts. I need the smoking gun here.
6) Bush's first tax cut was an abysmal failure. Looking for Bush's promises vs. the raw economic evidence of our continued jobloss "recovery".
7) Bush & Rice took two steps backwards from the Clinton Administration's anti-terrorism obsession leading up tp 9/11. Need the RDCV (Readers' Digest Condensed Version) of the evidence.
8) Bush was asleep at the wheel on 9/11 and anthrax. Bush lied about 9/11 and anthrax. The Bush Administration has failed us on 9/11 and anthrax. The Bush Administration lied about their 9/11 failures. Bushco has cover up the obvious and numerous Saudi/Paki links. Almost no hard evidence about the attack has been supplied to the public. The Bush Administration has fought a full 9/11 investigation at every turn. Need the RDCV, no tinfoil -- no standdown. I'm simply going to link the complete timeline as the tinfoil part.
9) Bushies using 9/11 to attack the Bill of Rights. Patriot Act, Patriot II, Total Information Awareness, Capstone plane passenger screening, Padilla's "Enemy Combatant" legal limbo, domestic spying, Gitmo, drone plane assassinations, forced vaccinations, etc. Bush using 9/11 to extend the scope of executive powers. Bush using 9/11 to squash legitimate dissent. Need a comprehensive list and RDCV analysis.
10) The Bush administration is the least transparent Presidency since WWII, at least. Need documentation of all the FOIA denials & slowdowns, "executive privilege" arguments, increase in sealed records, increased redactions and classifications.
11) The Bush Administration's governing by scare mongering. Need more documentation of the boys who cried Wolfowitz (abuse of alert system, idiotic terrorist warnings, use of frightening farfetched imagery, duct tape, the "inevitability" of the next attack, etc).
12) The Bush Administration's failure to actually take the necessary step to increase domestic security. Need the RDCV.
13) Bush gutting environmental regulations. Need the juice.
14) Bush throwing out the best available science to favor corporations, polluters and loggers, etc. Need more juice.
15) Bush's EPA and the WTC toxic air cover up. This is a pet research subject of mine, so I've more than got it covered.
16) Bush's EPA and squelching vermiculite asbestos warnings that could save thousands of people from painful suffocating deaths. Again, this is a pet research subject of mine, so I've more than got it covered.
17) Bush's doctrine of pre-emptive warfare. Need the historical ramifications and its context in the historical body of international law.
18) Bush's alienation of world opinion, the USA's traditional allies and the world's Islamic population. I've got the damning Pew Trust numbers. If there's more where that came from, please post it.
19) Bush I, Bush II, Iraq and Depleted Uranium. Need the most mainstream links on this availble.
20) The mess in Afghanistan. Heroin, warlords, troop losses and the return of the Taliban. Need the RDCV.
21) Bush Administration lies about Iraq. Need a handy website spelling all of them out.
22) The "Chicken Little" WMD media game the "coalition" has been playing since the invasion began. Need the documented juice.
23) Bush Administration cronyism and corruption in defense contracting. Other than Carlyle and Halliburton getting huge no-bid cost-plus contracts, I need the RDCV of this scandal.
24) Bush's hypocrisy regarding "supporting the troops" while cutting their knees out from under them when in comes to hazard pay, housing, veteran benefits, quality of logistical support, etc.
25) Deaths and injuries in Iraq. The price tag for Iraq. The quagmire in Iraq. Need the RDCV.
26) Who benefits from Bush's tax cuts of the rich, for the rich and by the rich? Don't forget estate tax, the cap gains break and the dividend tax cut. Need the RDCV.
27) Bush's second tax cut has been an abysmal failure so far. Looking for Bush's promises vs. the raw economic evidence of our continued jobloss "recovery".
28) Bush is a cheap labor conservative who wants high unemployment, lots of cheap foreign outsourcing, and higher productivity combined with lower wages. Need the best non-partisan evidence for this.
29) Bush's jobloss "recovery." Need the the RDCV of the grim facts.
30) Bush's record government expansion and record deficits. I've already got the numbers and links (Cato Institute stuff, mostly) I need for this one, but if you've got some more ...
31) The Bush Administration's systematic method of turning government economic reporting agencies in BushCo propaganda producers. The squelching of real economic data and the promulgation of misleading or pie-in-the-sky numbers on unemployment, the GDP, projected deficits, projected tax cut benefits, etc.
32) Bush's record for rubberstamping billions of dollars of Republican pork -- both defense and non-defense. Need the juice.
33) Bush's use of "War on Terror" to completely sheild his pet industries -- big oil in Iraq and big pharmies concerning vaccines -- from legal liability. Need the RDCV.
34) Bush AWOL. Got the evidence on this.
Anything that belongs on this list that I haven't managed to rattle off in this post off the top of my head.
