Why do so many DU'ers spell the word "moron" wrong?

I first saw it on St. Louis's Indymedia site. They were covering an antiwar demonstration of a defense contractor's plant in St. Louis. IIRC, the rally was sometime in mid-April. One of the photographers snapped a shot of the counter-protest, and the rest is history.

There was a sign at one of their freep fest where moron was spelled moran. It backfires because 1)Most people never saw the picture, and don't get the joke. 2)People get into the habit of spelling moron that way. You shouldn't misspell stewpid when you call someone stupid.
