1. Olive oil is running about $14.00 a gallon
I'm sure it sounds good as an alternative to fossil fuel, but I would imagine the supply of cheap/free vegetable oil is very limited.

I'm just gonna drive less and use less fuel all the way around.

Before he turns in at 7:30 pm every evening, he wrings his hair into the gas tank.

5. I would consider
changing our leaders for vegetable oil. Anyway, if we switch to vegetable oil, current oil companies would probably control the supply.

6. I like the idea of vegetable oil cars...
but the idea isn't practical. You must have a modified diesel engine. You need a strainer/preheater that is technically non-trivial. Getting the fuel (used cooking oil) is time-consuming. And used cooking oil stinks to high heaven, both before and after combustion.

Assuming I did this, and learned to put up with the stink, the supply is limited and not available on demand. As to dual-fuel, (veg. oil / diesel fuel), I don't know if that's practical.

Nice idea, but it'll never solve any fuel scarcity problem.
