Poll Shows Voters Prefer Bush at Barbecue
HAMDEN, Conn. - Voters would rather flip burgers and drink beer at a backyard barbecue with President Bush (news - web sites) than Sen. John Kerry (news - web sites), according to a national poll that found Bush leading Kerry on "regular guy" qualities.'

Half of the registered voters surveyed said they would rather have a barbecue with Bush, while 39 percent chose Kerry and 11 percent either didn't know or would not answer the question posed by Quinnipiac University pollsters.

More voters also would trust Bush, 46-41, to run the family business. But voters were evenly split on whether they would rather have Kerry or Bush teach their children.

Mickey Carroll, the director of the Quinnipiac Polling Institute, said these offbeat questions were asked to try to get a peek at the personal, regular-guy qualities of each candidate.

4. Amen to That
Don't you think the BBQ was a push poll question - you could instantly imagine Bush at a BBQ cuz all the pictures are at the ranch, he is dressed in jeans, ready for a BBQ.

What if the question was which would you rather going biking with -- or horseback riding with - hmm. wonder what the answer would be then?

Anyway, stupid questions.

Again -- will this election be decided by those who think that the person in the White House should be "just folks"? * wouldn't even stop the motorcade for most of these people, let alone sit around in their backyard with them.

straight into the ground?? like every other business (and country) he's ever been in charge of?

How long until we see a poll: "Americans prefer Bush 45-42 when asked who they would rather have marry their sister, blah, blah, blah".....

I guess Quinnipiac is really having a tough time trying to prop up this Miserable W. Failure and his Misadministration, huh??

Absolutely ridiculous that some could choose Bush given the facts of his business failures, inside trading, and sweetheart buyouts by people looking to curry favor with Poppy.

Pretty sad indictment of American ignorance.

I would too if I didn't despise him. Most would like the pRresident rather than the challenger. After all, * does have more power and influence. I think this is a dumb poll! As for the family business, * has access to lots more insider deals and uses them. If you wanted to amass wealth and didn't care about values, then I too would choose the chimp. Stupid, meaningless questions that do not measure what they say.

The media pulled this stunt 4 years ago with Gore and Bush. Now they're doing it again???

Watch for the "Halloween mask sales" this year! In October of 2000 I saw a "news" feature which said that Bush masks were outselling Gore masks. The conclusion? The prediction that whoever's mask is selling more will when the election.

Let's see if they try THIS shit again... :eyes:

32. I used to have a subscription to Good Housekeeping,
but last summer I got the 4th of July issue.

In it, in the big backyard barbeque section full of recipes, ideas, and trivia in the middle, they had a question:

"What Famous Person Would You Most Want to Have at Your Barbeque?"

When I read that like 65% of people wanted Shrub, I decided immediately to let my subscription lapse. Haven't picked up an issue since.

He is an elitist, filthy-rich, old establishment carpetbagger!

We need to get the word out about this, becuase the reason a lot of people like him so much is that they think he's "one of them".

Not only is he not one of them, but his agenda shows nothing but contempt for the average citizen. God, how can people be so stupid!

If he came to your barbecue, he would drink all your beer, wipe his barbecue stained hands on your wife's dress, piss in your flower bed, make a pass at your son and puke all over your guests.

And of course we have his stellar life as a drinking, drugging thieving, lying son of a bitch. Yea, I really want him teaching my children. Not! I really don't want my child thinking that slander and torture are qualities worth following.

It's time the USA get educated on how shallow that is - putting that much stock into candidates who are the best Good Old Boys, as though that's a quality that matters.

Anybody can go to a barbeque.

to a barbecue with leaders of the free world..Especially Misleaders who would not give you air if you were in a jug. If they all think that way. I suggest they all show up at the white house for a meal and see how fast they get turned away. without 50 grand in ya pocket Bubba, you ain't going in and eat nothing and even with 50 grand, you will only get Crisco..placed on your head ! You might accidently see something like Bush boozing, falling, cussing and praying all at the same time and most people have cameras at BB-Q's.
They are the only ones with cameras. How stupid is America anyway !
