4:00 AM EST and DU is flying
Edited on Wed May-26-04 03:42 AM by JimWar
Amazing amount of activity given the hour. I hope it's a good sign and not everyone is getting like me and can't sleep well lately.

Oh well, just thought I note it, no need to reply, too many other good threads just whizzing by.

carry on

1. Naw
I'm just displaced from my industry thanks to Bush shipping my job over seas. So I stay up however late I want looking for work and contemplating suicide! YAY!

2. Hell, we can sleep when we're dead!
And with the Busholinis in power,
you never know how soon that may be!
:nuke:
So carry on indeed!

4. Uncredited quote of the night
"When you're up to your ass in alligators, it's hard to remember that you started out to drain the swamp."

5. Bizarre, but interesting tangent...

I give you now Professor Twist,
A conscientious scientist,
Trustees exclaimed, "He never bungles!"
And sent him off to distant jungles.
Camped on a tropic riverside,
One day he missed his loving bride.
She had, the guide informed him later,
Been eaten by an alligator.
Professor Twist could not but smile.
"You mean," he said, "a crocodile."

-Ogden Nash

On Edit: Whoops, I didn't get it all...

10. Oooh, that one's good
I find these positively delightful.

Wouldn't it be weird (and nice, for a change) if we had a president who thought and talked like Nash? I bet more people would tune into his speeches then...

8. Just an old fashioned astronomy student..
I developed my nocturnal habits when I was still a kid, sneaking out at night to wander the streets of suburbia. I love spending time in NYC, but I wouldn't want to live there because having a lot of other people up and active at 3 am takes all of the fun out of it. :)

9. Listening to Ray Taliferro
great liberal talk radio. It's "only" 1:40 AM here in the west.

12. I've been sitting here trying to figure out why...
...IE wouldn't play animated gifs.

Turned out it was the stupid Zone Alarm.

If I'd just assume that 90% of the stuff that's wrong is somehow related to Zone Alarm, it would make my life easier.

14. I just sleep at the wrong time of day.
Night has always seemed like the best time but the world here runs at the wrong time for me.I have not read Ogden Nash in years.

15. I totally don't sleep anymore. Went to bed at midnight and got up at 4
Unfortunately this is becoming the norm for me. At least I am a school teacher, so I only have 5 more working days until I get 5 weeks off - HOORAY!

16. I'm having trouble sleeping lately, too.
And my appetite's gone off.

I think I'm just worried about a lot of things.
