How many Iraqi prisoners have died?

I know no one knows this for sure, but what are the latest guesses as to how many Iraqi and Afghan prisoners have died while in US cutody?

I heard a caller on NPR this morning complaining that the press was making a big deal about nothing... "there MAY have been some MINOR abuses to the Iraqi prisoners, but they beheaded an American citizen. How can that compare? We haven't hurt anyone."

1. The torture was going on last fall and winter.

The beheading took place two weeks ago.
