Bush to debate Kerry at liberal Swarthmore college????
Oh, what I wouldn't give for this to happen....

A commission comprising high-profile civic leaders and former presidential candidates has invited George W. Bush and John Kerry to a debate on the Swarthmore College campus five weeks before Election Day.

<snip>

Open Debate claims that party leaders control everything from the venue to the moderator to the height of the podium.

Some changes the Citizens’ Debate Commission would like to see are: the injection of legitimate third-party candidates, the lengthening of response times, candidate-to-candidate questioning, and the use of unscreened questions.

"It would be like putting a person with no weapons into a ring with 500 lions," Springfield Republican chairman Charlie Sexton said of a Bush appearance at Swarthmore. "But this president has a lot of courage and I don’t think he would be afraid to debate Kerry anywhere."

1. unscreened questions?
Bushco will never agree to this. A debate is supposed to be about the ability to think on your feet and whenever * has had to do something extemporaneously, the result is, at best, gibberish.

4. Are you kidding me???
Is this quote for real???

"It would be like putting a person with no weapons into a ring with 500 lions," Springfield Republican chairman Charlie Sexton said of a Bush appearance at Swarthmore. "But this president has a lot of courage and I don’t think he would be afraid to debate Kerry anywhere."

Bush has the courage to debate Kerry????

Since when?

If he really had the courage he'd agree to the monthly debates that have been proposed.

He doesn't have courage, everyone, even Republicans know that!

5. i think he is sugarcoating it
saying * is tough, and he certainly wouldn't back down from a challenge (wink, wink) so he'll accept.

so if * ducks it, then he's clearly a wimp ...........

6. I seriously doubt that Bush* will debate Kerry anywhere at all
during this election season.

They will find a way for him to avoid it, some kind of a crisis that will make it impossible.

I'm betting on an assassination threat or maybe even a staged attempt. This will make him look like the hero-martyr to his followers and give him an excuse to stay out of all unscripted events and away from all but the most carefully screened audiences.

It could also be some kind of terrorist attack, which would fit nicely into their other plans for election season, and which by the way they have already been predicting.

Here's a snip from a different article in the same newspaper talking about Bush*'s speech in Carlisle, PA yesterday.

For his speech, the president chose an audience of 450 people meant to highlight his image as commander in chief. The war college trains Army leaders on strategy, military science and other aspects of defense.

This is the most stage-managed, insulated president (sic) in history, with good reason.
