Look at him! HEAR him! He's so intelligent! The U.S. has shut out the countries in the region around Iraq. We need to bring the nations on board. You HAVE to have a strategy in Iraq. He's giving HIS strategy. VP Wes Clark! :bounce:

11. Summary: Speech Last Night All Packaging-No New Ideas
Edited on Tue May-25-04 08:50 AM by cryingshame
People want:

1. see Competence- can Junior do necessary job. Faith shaken w/ prison scandal, increasing violence, reversal of policies (re-Baathification).
2. Hope- Does ambitious vision of turning Iraq into Democracy have basis in reality.

Junior needs to address Pragmatic Issues-

What about troops (people on ground)
Need more active duty personnel. National Guard is a Family/Volunteer Force. Jeopardizing them with such long term commitments.

Not enough International involvement:

Junior/U.S. shut out ME and Europe in decision making. Nations contributing in future should get to Debate and Influence policy. Need to create a Forum for this to happen.

Clark would have had a different approach to speech:

Not just restate formulas but present strategy for moving foward.

1. How many forces for How Long needed to control violence. If NOT a matter of more forces that what is it a matter of.
2. Accelerate training of Iraqis.
3. Pull U.S. troops out.

15. Actually, The Guy Interviewing Clark Was Respectful
Perhaps the Assman Incident put the fear of Clark into them :)

I never watch fox and have no idea who was interviewing Clark.
