Have you noticed the mediawhores talking about the Neo Cons?
Edited on Mon May-24-04 08:35 AM by frank frankly
I was shocked to see some Sunday afternoon CNN Money show talking about how "Neo Conservatives don't care about budget deficits." This quote was the captain at the bottom of the screen.

Then, 60 Minutes talked about the Neo Cons.

Has anybody noticed this change? I don't have a tv, but I watch it sometimes and I was shocked.

It seems the Neo Cons are about to be exposed.

1. Noticed that too
The mediawhores are talking openly about NEOCONS as if everybody actually understands who they are. Even wierder, it appear that everything BAD about the Bush Administration is being blamed on the NEOCONS. Bush is being held separate from these people....it's all the fault of those nasty, nasty NEOCONS!

4. Bush is NEVER responsible
Blame it on the Neocon Jews. Blame it on the evil doer Muslims. Blame it on Chalabi. Blame it on Clinton. Blame it on the trailer trash renegade prison guards. Blame it on the CIA, the FBI....

2. Only if Bush is exposed...
remember it was BUSH who empowered these guys, it was BUSH who gave them free reign to undermine the security of the US, of the Middle East, and of the world.

We have to make it very clear that Bush and the neocons are one and the same. We have to make sure that Bush does not try to distance himself, that he finally is forced to take personal responsibility for his really poor judgment.

But he's a republican, so he won't take personal responsibility...

3. Hopefully Neocon will become a pejorative term now
After fifteen some-odd years of the right-wing media turning "liberal" into a dirty word now it's time for a taste of their own medicine, I hope. It's time for neocon to become the new cuss word of political discourse. And anyone who calls themselves "'just' a conservative" or even a "compassionate" conservative will be painted with the same broad brush. I think it's high time we did unto others as they've done unto us.

6. Excellent. Do to 'conservative' what they've tried to do to 'liberal'.
I've been wondering how 'neocon' will be defined in Oxford or Webster years from now. In his Atlantic essay last week, Jack Beatty wrote this in his opening:

In the wake of Iraq, the term "neo-conservative" may come to mean "dangerous innocence about world realities".

I think he's being too kind.

7. F*ck the mediawhores!
They had a chance to do their job and failed. Failed miserably. Now they want us to believe they're REALLY journalists and investigative reporters? To hell with them...

They'll have to do A LOT MORE to redeem themselves (an unachievable goal at this point) and even then they'll still be mediawhores, prepared to once again engage in a campaign of lies and deception in order to do the bidding of the next Geo. W. Bush, the next Karl Rove, and the next neofascist bunch of thugs to seize the US government.

They are just as responsible for this mess as Geo. W. Bush and the Neocons.

9. The Neo Cons provide some really tasty images and sound-bites for...
...attack ads. Attacking the men around Bush as well as Bush himself could be a good media strategy for JK.

Wolfowitz and Feith look like the kinda guys that the proverbial average American doesn't like. Intellectual dreamers with ideas untested by reality. The kinda egghead goofballs that always get us in trouble with their mad schemes.

10. Change? How About "no permission slips" and "no cut-and-run"?
I've noticed the media whores ceaselessly drumbeating that when we turn over occupation to the Iraqis, if they ask us to leave, why, we have NO CHOICE "but to pack our bags and go." Same words, all outlets.

11. time to repeat the word PNAC ...
... over and over and over and over till people really understand while we're really in Iraq. I find so many people have no idea what the neocon PNAC was/is all about ... it was never covered properly by the mainstream media. If we're gonna talk neocons now, we've gotta talk PNAC!

14. Agree with so many of the points expressed above
Some great points have been raised:

do to the term "neocon" what was done to the term "liberal".
Attack Wolfie, Rumsfeld, Feith instead of Bush; let the guilt by association take care of itself.
Give the mediawhores a story-line (e.g. Neocons are evil, "expose' of PNAC) to run on....they can do this without directly attacking Bush too.

Great points...good discussion.

These guys are always discussed anonymously as "neo-cons" - people need to know WHO they are and WHAT they want to do.

16. crooks, law breakers
the other day getting out of car to go into convenience store, see a huge bulletin board with olliver norths face on it. say, geeeez....to my boys. cant get away from these people for nothing.

then i saw it was talking boy scouts. at the boy scout headquarter. my boys are in boyscouts. i am going to head office and ask if a criminal is the best we can do as a representitive to our boys, teaching them honor and integrity and patriotism. what oliver north did was betraying the trust, we the people gave to him.

24. Don't like this.
Not one fucking bit. BUSH is the one who put these people in charge of his policies. BUSH is the one who supposedly surrounded himself with "experts." HE is responsible...not them.
