Youth Contest: Write a 300 word essay and go to the DNC/RNC!
MTV is sponsoring a contest where people 18-24 can speak in primetime at the Democratic and Republican National Conventions.

The topics are as follows:

The Democrats ask "Why should politics be important to youth and how can youth get more involved in the political process?"

Submit Here

The Republicans ask, panderingly nicknamed "Stand Up and Holla!" ask (:puke: alert) "Why is the President's call to community service important and how have you demonstrated it?"

Submit Here: http://www.2004nycgop.org/essaycontest/form.html

People aged 13-17 get to gavel in the convention based on this essay topic; "How can teenagers use the political process to make their community a better place?"

Good Luck!
