35. Exactly. He's a drunk, and they're covering for him all the time.
Drunks generally can't block their falls with their hands or arms because their reflexes are so slowed down by the alcohol.

He should resign, get into therapy and let the rest of us live! How can anyone feel sadness for someone so arrogant and uncaring, is beyond me.

8. Benefit of the doubt.
I kinda go with the falling down drunk scenario. Number two on my list would be Laura beats him up with whatever she can get her hands on. My benefit of the doubt scenario comes from another DU'er, who is subject to epileptic siezures. It's called petit mal. It's a mild form of epilepsy that attacks for an instant, then disappears, but in that instant people can walk into posts, walls, fall off of things like bicycles, etc., before they can regain their composure. There is medication that stops the seizures, so if he's not taking his medication or his doctors haven't made the diagnosis, they should look into it.

http://news.search.yahoo.com/search/news/?c=news_photos&p=bush

U.S. President George W. Bush (news - web sites) walks to Air Force One in Waco, May 23, 2004. Bush is flying to Connecticut and is scheduled to attend a party for the graduation of his daughter Barbara. Bush suffered minor abrasions after falling off a mountain bike while cycling on his Texas ranch on Saturday, the White House said. The 57-year-old Republican president had cycled 16 miles (25 km) of a 17-mile (27-km) afternoon bike course when he toppled over while riding downhill on what the White House described as soil loosened by recent rainfall. 'He had minor abrasions and scratches on his chin, upper lip, his nose, right hand and both knees,' White House spokesman Trent Duffy told reporters. REUTERS/William Philpott

Below is the latest picture, from about an hour ago. He looks like he's wearing heavy makeup.

12. Even if he fell flat on his face
without shielding with his hands, wouldn't his nose be banged up worse than the upper lip just below his nose? It's almost impossible to scrape that area in a fall. Something doesn't add up here.

21. I did that once...
fell flat on my face without using my hands.

Ow.

I missed a slight step up -- a whopping two inches -- and my foot caught it, causing me to go "timber" face-first onto a rough, downtown sidewalk. My hands were full with packages so I was down before I could break my fall.

I only ended up with a really fat chin - no scratches, and nothing happened to my nose.

Now, Bush has BOTH hand scrapes and facial scrapes, and he was supposedly wearing a helmet.

The "accident" that caused that, I would really like to see!

The nose scratch is there, and there appears to be some sort of red patch on his left cheek. Also, there's a small mark by the left corner of his mouth.

Something's going on.

17. what on earth is he doing here?
geez, it looks as though he needs some metamucil. What on earth is he posing for? It is a face in pain. Or an actor acting what he THINKS he should look like. Is he at a funeral of some dead young soldier. Is he at church and adopting this face in his perceived interpretation of what a person in prayer is supposed to look like?

16. Can't HIDE 'em- The facial marks are the *only* ones they can't cover-up
Probably has many, many more 'incidents' we never hear about/see because they CAN cover them....secrecy is their first instinct-this must drive them NUTS!

This admin hides whatever makes 'em look bad, if this is what they allow us to know, just imagine what we don't see/know about.

His injuries to the face are just the subset that they have to explain publically (because they can't be hidden).

36. I think you may be right.
It would be odd for someone to exhibit a pattern of injuring himself only around the face. The other times he injures himself may explain his frequently awkward movements and gestures. He sometimes walks as though he is in a full body cast. And he often waves as though he has an injured shoulder.

and I'm not joking....he never really dealt with his alcoholism, he just stopped drinking and became a "dry drunk." Dry drunks go back to the bottle in times of extreme stress, and with the way he has screwed things up, he's gotta be drinking again, IMHO.
